iOS Software Engineer

Adyen is looking for a full-time Senior iOS developer to help us conquer the world of mobile payments. You'll be working in a cross-functional and motivated team with a lot of room to start new initiatives and take ownership. Besides having an open and entrepreneurial mindset, we expect you to be experienced in iOS development, both from an implementation and architectural point of view. Our Team

The IPP Mobile team is at the forefront of transforming how businesses accept payments. We're not just building software; we're empowering merchants to turn their everyday mobile devices into powerful payment terminals. Specifically, our focus is on the POS Mobile SDK, a core component enabling this innovative capability.

While the IPP Mobile team works broadly on our mobile payment solutions, the NYC1 sub-team has a unique and exciting focus: integrating with Adyen's own card reader. This isn't a virtual solution; it's a dedicated, Bluetooth-connected device that allows merchants to accept payments using all three entry modes: tap, dip, and swipe. This means becoming part of solutions that bridge the gap between physical hardware and our cutting-edge software.

The Problems We're Solving

Our primary mission is to ensure scalability and reliability as we pave the way for 10x growth. We're tackling challenges like:

• Ensuring seamless, high-volume transactions: Scaling our backend to effortlessly handle exponentially increasing transaction loads as more merchants adopt our solutions.
• Maintaining robust connectivity: Optimizing the stability and efficiency of Bluetooth connections between mobile devices and our card readers, even in challenging environments.
• Delivering consistent performance: Ensuring a consistently fast and reliable payment experience, regardless of the mobile device, network conditions, or payment method.
• Building a future-proof architecture: Designing adaptable and extensible solutions that support new payment methods, card readers, and evolving merchant needs as we continue to innovate.

Who you are

We're looking for a motivated, enthusiastic team player with:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in iOS development using Swift.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• A proven ability to write reliable and clearly understandable code.
• A willingness to learn and continuously improve.
• A flexible and open-minded approach to new ideas.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to bring forward impactful ideas to enhance our solutions.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with building libraries used by other developers.
• Experience utilizing Objective-C.
