This is Adyen

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.

For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.

The Role

We are looking for a Global Senior HRBP to partner with our Tech Solution (Engineering and Product). You will split your focus between local leadership in Chicago and our global headquarters in Amsterdam.

This is not a support role. You will be a strategic partner to Solution leadership, helping them shape the organization, talent density, and operating models required to deliver on our technical roadmap. You will own the people strategy for high-impact areas of the business and drive consistency across our global tech hubs.

What you’ll do:

  • Strategy Ownership: Own people strategy for larger Tech Solution and high-impact areas of the business.
  • Strategic Sparring: Be an effective sparring partner for team leads on all things related to people including team growth and development.
  • Influence & Org Design: Influence Solution leadership on org design and leadership decisions; challenge managers' thinking when necessary and collaborate with them to make decisions that benefit the entire business.
  • Global Impact: Lead Tech-wide initiatives, such as new career frameworks, Tech Hubs work, or global headcount planning.
  • Employee Relations: Handles the most performance, ER, and leadership topics.
  • Talent Planning: Lead performance, talent planning, succession, and leadership development across regions for the Solution.. Facilitate talent planning that produces actionable strategies, including plans for talent acquisition, team development, and growth of future leaders in alignment with business plans and priorities.
  • Leadership Coaching: Continuously coach leaders at all levels to develop themselves and their teams by partnering regularly on how to increase their teams’ impact as we continue to grow and scale.
  • Culture & Values: Guide managers to apply our core values in their day-to-day decisions and foster an environment rich in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Data & Process: Utilize strong experience with Workday processes to use data to tell a story in order to ensure action from the business.
  • Collaboration: Partner with the HR Innovations and Employee Relations teams to get things done in a timely manner and provide our employees a seamless experience.

Who you are:

  • Experience: 3-6 years of HRBP experience working with managers and leaders at all levels in a people partnering role at a high-pace company.
  • Complex Case Management: Demonstrated knowledge in HR practices, with the ability to handle the most complex performance, Employee Relations, and leadership topics.
  • Trusted Advisor: You have a strong sense of self and build trust quickly to become a trusted advisor at all levels of the organization.
  • Agility: You thrive in an unstructured growing environment and are excited to try new approaches, do things differently, and aren’t afraid to “build as you go”.
  • Strategic Mindset: You are able to question the status quo with managers and work with them to define new solutions to old problems.
  • Organizational Dynamics: You are well versed in organizational dynamics, know what healthy, motivated, growing teams look like, and can give guidance on what to do to make this even better.
  • Efficiency: You’re hands-on, but know how to collaborate and prioritize (constantly looking for how things can be done more simply or automated).
  • Project Management: Skilled in project managing HR initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
  • Communication: Excellent at communicating a point of view using both written and oral communication skills.
  • Travel: Must be able to travel 20% of the time. This includes global travel to Amsterdam and additional times to SF, NY, and/or Chicago offices.

The annual base salary range for this role is $195,000 - $260,000; to learn more about our compensation philosophy, please click here.

Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitments

Our unique approach is a product of our diverse perspectives. This diversity of backgrounds and cultures is essential in helping us maintain our momentum. Our business and technical challenges are unique, and we need as many different voices as possible to join us in solving them - voices like yours. No matter who you are or where you’re from, we welcome you to be your true self at Adyen.

Studies show that women and members of underrepresented communities apply for jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. Does this sound like you? If so, Adyen encourages you to reconsider and apply. We look forward to your application!

What’s next?

Ensuring a smooth and enjoyable candidate experience is critical for us. We aim to get back to you regarding your application within 5 business days. Our interview process tends to take about 4 weeks to complete, but may fluctuate depending on the role. Learn more about our hiring process here. Don’t be afraid to let us know if you need more flexibility.

This role is based out of our Chicago office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.
