Job Description
The Global Sanctions Team (“GS”) is part of Global Policy and Governance (GPG) within Block Compliance. GS executes Block’s Global Sanctions Program to manage and mitigate economic sanctions risks across the organization.
As a Global Sanctions Regulatory Compliance Analyst , you will work cross functionally to assess risk, analyze data, and use automated tools to drive innovative insights for Block’s Global Sanctions Program. In particular, you will be responsible for the adjudication of sanctions escalations and evaluation against Block’s Global Sanctions Policy and economic sanctions regulations administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and other sanctions authorities.
You Will:
- Fulfill Block’s sanctions regulatory reporting obligations by filing reports with OFAC and other global sanctions authorities.
- Complete and file OFAC’s Annual Report of Blocked Property.
- Build relationships with main external and internal stakeholders, including business partners, regulators and regional compliance teams at Block.
- Review and respond to escalations from Sanctions Operations Teams on open cases and outstanding questions related to economic sanctions.
- Maintain relationships with financial institutions holding OFAC blocked/frozen accounts on behalf of block.
- Execute foundational alert review and screening processes.
- Execute periodic sanctions list validation exercises.
- At manager’s discretion, other responsibilities may include: assisting with sanctions list reviews, supporting sanctions change management processes, maintaining and enhancing sanctions screening documentation.
Qualifications
- 5+ of private sector or government experience in sanctions compliance and risk management, ideally with experience in an Advisory capacity.
- Experience with U.S. sanctions regulations.
- Experience with non-US sanctions programs, including Canada, Australia, the EU, UK, and UN.
- Experience filing regulatory reports and communicating directly with OFAC and other international sanctions authorities.
- Experience developing end-to-end compliance risk management programs.
- A strong analytical approach to create substantiated solutions.
- Clear written and presentation skills.
- Experience collaborating with team members of all levels, and cross-functional partners.
- A mindset to deliver results proactively, resourcefully, and methodically.
Even better:
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CAMS, CGSS, CSS).
- Project management experience or related certifications.
Additional Information
Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $101,500 - USD $152,300
Zone B: USD $94,400 - USD $141,600
Zone C: USD $86,300 - USD $129,500
Zone D: USD $76,200 - USD $114,200
