Airwallex is looking for a proactive and motivated Group Tax Manager with extensive hands-on local experience and a global mindset to provide tax advice and supporting documentation, compliance, and reporting for existing businesses and new business initiatives.
This position will be part of a team that works closely with business partners to understand business initiatives, prepare advice on the associated tax implications, provide actionable guidance and requirements for the business, and support reporting and compliance obligations.
This role will be based in the Netherlands and will work closely with the national, international and global peer groups and leadership teams across multiple disciplines including Finance, Legal, and Commercial teams.
What You'll Need...
- An in-depth, technical knowledge of complex taxation matters, including; Direct tax, Indirect tax , International tax and Transfer Pricing
- Experience evaluating and advising on multi-territory business initiatives and complex multi-party transactions
- Experience coordinating and executing practical and sustainable tax solutions in line with current and future business plans
- Demonstrable experience working across multiple timezones, supporting and/or leading on strategic cross-functional projects designed to identify growth opportunity or mitigate risk
- An ability to translate complex tax concepts into meaningful meaningful business requirements which support Airwallex's international expansion plans
- A high attention to detail in order to deliver the planning, real time coordination, and communication of various tax-related projects
What You'll Do...
- Lead complex, high priority projects whilst managing competing priorities – including working across multi-region and cross-functional teams
- Deliver holistic, commercially balanced advice to senior and executive level leadership to devise strategic, technical tax positions
- Analyse and review statutes, regulations and case laws, and extract data make appropriate recommendations in simple terms
- Own all regional (EMEA) direct tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing issues related to current and future Airwallex entities
- Contribute to complex global projects such as M&A transactions, due diligence, or IPO-readiness
What You Bring...
- High calibre academic record in Finance, Accounting, Tax or another related field (Bachelors or Masters)
- Professional qualification in Tax or Accounting
- Big Four or equivalent training and experience
- Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience including several years of demonstrable managerial experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Team player mentality and ability to work with individuals across functions and culture
