We are looking to hire a Finance Manager to join the team and play a critical role in the financial reporting and tax compliance functions at Airwallex. As Finance Manager, you will take full ownership of all entities within the Americas region, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that financial statements are prepared timely and in accordance with the relevant local accounting standards. Your role will include a combination of recurring finance tasks and project based initiatives that will help continuously enhance the Controllership function, as well as support the overall rapid growth of Airwallex.

Responsibilities:

• Own the financial control procedures of our monthly reporting processes including preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and P&L reviews in close collaboration with the FP&A team

• Lead financial statement audits with external auditors, as well as tax compliance and other ad-hoc accounting issues with external advisors

• Support expansion into Brazil and Mexico, including representing Airwallex Brazil before the Brazilian regulatory authorities
  Collaborate closely with legal and compliance teams to fulfill all regulatory financial reporting obligations

• Drive a wide range of improvement projects for the Controllership team within Airwallex, which may include: 1) enabling new products in our reporting structure; 2) standardizing our processes to support the global nature of the business; 3) identifying automation opportunities to help Airwallex’s controllership function grow and mature to the next level

• Provide finance support to cross-functional team members in relation to new product developments or business initiatives

• Collaborate closely with other regional finance teams on department-wide projects and change management

• Represent Airwallex in its interactions with the Brazilian Central Bank

• Serve as institutional liaison between Airwallex and the Central Bank, communicating effectively with it, including attending meetings and responding to inquiries

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within the Central Bank

• Responsibilities for the role may develop over time

What you bring:

• 10+ years of accounting/finance experience, Big Four, Fintech, Payments, Banking and/or Financial Services experience is a huge plus

• Experience with tax compliance and reporting preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, CPA or equivalent qualification preferred

• Strong understanding of financial services, fintech businesses, and regulatory environments

• Extensive experience in a financial controllership role and proven track record of building and expanding these capabilities within an organization

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP, including specific application to Brazilian licensing, reporting and audit practices (i.e., COSIF and reporting standards)

• Proven experience in managing complex local or international projects focused on process improvement initiatives

• Strong communication and ability to interact with all levels within the organization

• Confident, creative, and innovative thought leadership to deliver impact in a hyper growth environment

• Experience working independently and navigating ambiguity

• Extensive knowledge of the regulatory requirements and procedures of the Central Bank

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong institutional role experience within the Brazilian financial system
