About the team

As a global team, we span across Australia, China, USA, and Singapore, revolutionizing applied data science, data engineering and platform solutions to support Airwallex's rapid growth. You will collaborate with a diverse range of cross-functional partners, including Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and more, to tackle complex data problems and shape the future of fintech.

What you’ll do

We’re seeking a passionate, experienced Data Science Manager to lead our Growth Analytics team. This team drives data-driven decision-making and builds solutions that accelerate Airwallex’s growth. You will be a strategic partner to cross-functional leaders across Growth, Sales, Marketing, and Product to identify opportunities, optimize strategies, and unlock scalable growth using data science and analytics.

This role is based in Singapore.

Responsibilities:

• Operate as a strategic thought partner with Growth, Marketing, Sales, and Data Science leaders to define and implement Airwallex’s growth strategy

• Guide the team in applying a variety of data science techniques—root-cause analysis, statistical modeling, and experimentation—to identify opportunities and drive product-led growth (acquisition, activation, retention, reactivation)

• Establish insight-driven approaches to address key business problems and drive business impact

• Build scalable measurement frameworks that enable consistent, data-driven decision-making across teams and inform growth strategy

• Clearly and persuasively communicate data insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring findings influence stakeholders at all levels

• Translate open-ended business problems into clearly defined data science initiatives for the team to implement

• Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing and inclusive team of data scientists, fostering a collaborative environment

Who you are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:

• 8+ years industry experience and a degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, Computer Science, Economics). Advanced degree (PhD or MS) preferred

• 2+ years of management experience in data science or data analytics

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to build strong relationships and influence senior stakeholders across functions

• Demonstrated experience applying data science to drive growth initiatives with concrete impact

• Strong skills in SQL and Python/R; experience with data modeling a plus

Preferred qualification:

• Experience in technology, financial services and/or a high growth environment is advantageous
