We are now seeking an experienced Android Mobile Engineering Lead (Tech Lead) to join our talented team and continue to drive our mobile app forwards to provide an exceptional product for our clients.
About the role:
This is a leadership role with hands-on coding… you will be on the tools!
Working within a multidisciplinary team of iOS developers, product owners, engineering managers and designers, you will help design, develop, and maintain our native Android mobile app.
We are looking for a highly experienced Android developer, who shares our passion for innovation in the digital asset and blockchain space. In this role, you will help us to break new ground with digital products that are fast, reliable, and secure.
What you will be doing:
- Lead the development of Android application using Clean Architecture, ensuring high-quality code that is scalable, maintainable, and testable,
- Working with the latest mobile development technologies, such as: Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Multiplatform for Mobile (KMM), GraphQL, and WebSockets,
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in mobile development and proactively recommend improvements to the mobile app,
- Providing technical feedback to other developers through PR reviews and work with designers and product owners to help inform UX/UI,
- Creating and maintaining reliability of the app through test automation via unit tests, integration test and E2E tests,
- Working in an agile environment and contributing to the overall direction and roadmap of features in the mobile app, and
- Working closely with the product owner to break down high-level requirements into stories and task for development.
What you will need to be successful in the role:
- At least 7 years of commercial Android development experience,
- A strong understanding of Kotlin and KMM.
- Experience with mobile analytics, performance optimisation, and telemetry tools (e.g. DataDog),
- Experience building continuous integration pipelines and automated release processes,
- Experience working with WebSockets and GraphQL with Apollo,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Experience with software development tools such as Git, JIRA, etc,
- Experience with Agile methodologies,
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks,
- A genuine passion for mobile app development and advancing technologies.
Other desirable skills:
- Experience with payment platforms is highly desirable,
- An understanding of blockchain, cryptocurrency or Defi protocols,
- UI/UX skills and experience, and
- You have worked in a high-security, financial environment.
