Job Description
We are looking for a Head of Finance Projects and Governance to join our Group Finance & Planning division.
The Head of Finance Projects and Governance is responsible for leading strategic finance initiatives, managing Line 1 risk within the Finance function, and driving the delivery of key projects aligned to the Finance roadmap. This role ensures robust governance, effective planning, and successful execution of transformation programs that enable Finance to deliver on its strategic objectives.

Strategic Initiatives
Working closely with the Group Finance and Planning leadership team on:
- Operating model strategy, implementation and execution
- Embedment of the highest standards of Line 1 behaviours and practices across the group
- Facilitating an operating model that derives maximum value from the coordinated activity of the group
- Preparation of board papers
- Representing the business in risk committees and projects.
- Working with senior leadership to align departmental goals and projects with overarching business objectives.
- Evaluating the division’s readiness for strategic change and prepare plans to address any gaps or challenges
Regulatory & Change Management
- Act as the central point within the division for planning and execution of ongoing Risk Culture uplift and embedment.
- Ensure that the operations of the division adheres to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Analysis & Reporting
- Measurement and reporting of divisional performance across a range of leading and lagging indicators.
- Management, measurement and reporting of divisional performance in key projects and programs.
- Assist in establishing key performance indicators to measure the success of strategic initiatives, projects, and change efforts.
- Identify and address performance issues and risks proactively to ensure objectives are met.
What you’ll bring
You’re an analytical thinker with the ability to solve complex problems. You’ve got excellent communication skills and an eye for detail. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are keen to contribute to a dynamic team.
To succeed in this role, you’ll have:
- Business/Finance management experience in the financial services industry (ADI experience highly regarded), including familiarity with industry specific challenges and opportunities
- Proven experience in developing and executing strategic plans and business strategies that align with organisational goals
- Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams, influencing stakeholders, and driving team performance to achieve project and business goals
- Proven track record in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks in a business or project context
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Finance, Business, Business Administration, Management, or a related field
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
- Excellent communication, influencing, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Strong Project Management Skills and demonstrated capability in Change Management
Although not required experience in the following would be highly regarded:
- Experience in Line 1 risk in financial services highly regarded
