This role involves overseeing the migration process from one Kubernetes cluster to another while supporting a microservice-based application running on Kubernetes clusters. The position is ideal for a highly technical engineer with a wealth of experience in Azure DevOps and Kubernetes. This role provides a platform to significantly influence the design, development, and optimization of features in a vibrant Agile development environment.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the migration of the entire infrastructure (PROD/Non-PROD) and data to a new Kubernetes cluster with minimal downtime
- Upkeeping and enhancing the current infrastructure to ensure it remains current
- Safeguarding the reliability, availability, and scalability of the systems
- Working in collaboration with Developers, Product and Program Management, and senior technical staff to deliver solutions centered around the customer
- Providing technical input for new feature requirements in partnership with business owners and architects
- Staying updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure continuous improvement
- Leading the implementation of solutions that align with business objectives
- Mentoring and guiding less experienced team members to enhance their skills and advance their careers
- Engaging in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals
Requirements
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in DevOps or related roles
- Solid experience with Azure DevOps and Kubernetes
- Proficiency in Kubernetes for managing containerized applications
- Practical experience with Linux for system administration and scripting purposes
- Understanding of Docker for containerizing applications
- Experience with a scripting language such as Bash, Python, or similar
- Expertise in cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure
- Experience with CI/CD for building and deploying applications
- Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English, at an upper-intermediate level or higher
Nice to have
- Experience with Apache Kafka, Couchbase, Jenkins, KeyCloak, and Helm charts
- Familiarity with Grafana, Prometheus, and Spinnaker
