We are looking for a remote Cloud Solution Architect to join our team and work closely with our client's Cloud Architecture Team in the banking domain. Your primary responsibility will be to support the evolution of the bank's Google Cloud capability by creating repeatable architecture solutions, patterns, and blueprints that will underpin workloads hosted on Google Cloud.

You will also be responsible for creating decision trees to facilitate technology product selection and supporting architecture governance, reviews, and tollgates for the deployment of applications to Google Cloud. You will provide knowledge and guidance, contribute to continuous improvements to the Cloud Architecture function, and collaborate with various stakeholders, including senior strategists, decision-makers, product owners, and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Support the evolution of the bank's Google Cloud capability
• Promote and evangelize the bank's cloud strategy, patterns, and technologies
• Create repeatable architecture solutions, patterns, and blueprints that will underpin workloads hosted on Google Cloud
• Support architecture governance, reviews, and tollgates for the deployment of applications to Google Cloud
• Create decision trees to facilitate technology product selection
• Produce high-quality, consumable documentation in support of the above
• Provide thought leadership, knowledge, and guidance
• Contribute continuous improvements to the Cloud Architecture function
• Collaborate with various stakeholders, including senior strategists, decision-makers, product owners, and engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• At least 10 years of hands-on experience in a primary domain
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in solution architecture
• Expertise in Google Cloud services and products including IAM, Networking and network services, Compute services, including GCE, GKE and Cloud Run, Data ingestion, transformation and orchestration services, Monitoring, logging and alerting with Google Cloud Operations etc
• Knowledge and understanding of best practice cloud architecture patterns, considering reliability, availability, security, operability, agility, and re-use
• Familiarity with Google Cloud FinOps best practices
• Knowledge of the value and deployment of Google Cloud Landing zones
• Experience with SRE best practices, and execution on Google Cloud
• Proficiency with DevOps and CI/CD best practices and tooling in Google Cloud, including Cloud Build and Terraform
• Excellent communicational and collaboration skills, ability to form strategic relationship
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English at a B2+ level
