Our dynamic remote team is in search of a Commerce Engineering Manager who is both highly skilled and motivated.
This role involves designing and implementing scalable, high-performance eCommerce solutions that cater to our clients' business needs. Your extensive knowledge of eCommerce platforms, industry best practices, and emerging technologies is key to delivering innovative solutions. Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and technical leadership are essential for steering cross-functional teams towards achieving project goals.
Responsibilities
- End-to-end eCommerce solution design that aligns with client's business objectives, technical requirements, and industry standards, development of comprehensive architecture blueprints, technical specifications, and integration plans
- Assessment of eCommerce platforms, frameworks, and technologies for recommending optimal solutions based on client requirements, scalability, and performance considerations, staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and excellence in solution design
- Provision of technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and business analysts, throughout the project lifecycle, collaboration with stakeholders to convert business requirements into technical solutions
- Designing and implementing seamless integration solutions that connect eCommerce platforms with third-party systems, payment gateways, CRM systems, ERP systems, and other enterprise applications
- Optimization of eCommerce solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability, identification and resolution of performance bottlenecks, implementation of caching strategies, and database query optimization to enhance system responsiveness and efficiency
- Implementation of robust security measures to safeguard eCommerce platforms from vulnerabilities, cyber threats, and data breaches, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards such as PCI DSS and GDPR
- Definition and implementation of quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability, usability, and accessibility of eCommerce solutions, conduction of code reviews, performance testing, and user acceptance testing to maintain high standards of software quality
- Preparation of technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and user guides for eCommerce solutions, providing training and knowledge transfer sessions to internal teams and clients on solution architecture and best practices
- Driving of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance eCommerce development processes, tooling, and automation, proactive identification of opportunities to optimize system performance, enhance user experience, and streamline workflows
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an eCommerce Tech Lead or similar role, with at least 2 years in eCommerce-Composable- solution design and implementation
- Expert level knowledge of eCommerce platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, or custom-built solutions
- Proficiency in one or more of the following platforms: CommerceTools, BigCommerce, Contentful, Contentstack
- Solid understanding of MACH architecture, including headless commerce, microservices architecture, and API-first approaches
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript (Node.js), Python, or Go
- Knowledge of frontend frameworks and libraries such as React.js, Angular, or Vue.js
- In-depth experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Deep knowledge of RESTful APIs, web services, and integration patterns for connecting eCommerce systems with external applications and services
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Proficiency in English language, with at least an Upper-Intermediate level competency
Nice to have
- Proficiency in developing and implementing SEO strategies
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
