We are in search of a Senior Java Developer to become an integral part of our remote team, tasked with the development of scalable, tested, and reliable applications in line with industry-standard methodologies.

Your role will involve maintaining strong relationships with our internal partners from the engineering, product, and business departments. Utilizing real-time data, you will gain insights into performance and system scalability, while also engaging in the resolution of any production issues.

Responsibilities

• Establish scalable, tested, and reliable applications using industry-standard methodologies
• Nurture relationships with internal partners from engineering, product, and business departments
• Deliver tested and optimized high-performance code for a distributed SOA environment within an agile team
• Utilize real-time data to gauge performance and ensure system scalability
• Containerize apps and services for cloud deployment
• Create fast, scalable, and reliable property status software that includes real-time feedback loops for properties
• Improve core property status workflow to enhance user experience
• Expand private and public APIs to improve UI experiences for internal and external partners
• Take the lead in backend development, creating applications from concept to completion
• Engage in the resolution of production issues, spearheading efforts toward solutions
• Seek opportunities to display your work on our tech blog and at internal & external conferences

Requirements

• Possession of a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related field, or equivalent related professional experience
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Java and streaming technology such as Kafka
• Minimum of 3 years' experience developing data and software solutions
• At least 2 years' experience in Spark
• 2 years or more of experience in building data pipelines in the cloud with tools like S3, Hadoop, and Hive, and working with Petabytes of data
• A passion for seeking out data engineering solutions
• An attentive developer with a strong sense of ownership
• Ability to complete individual tasks and ensure production deployment
• Ability to work closely with team members to ensure data solutions are well-built and of high quality
• Experience with classic and NoSQL database systems such as Elasticsearch and Cassandra
• Familiarity with all aspects of data systems including database design, ETL, aggregation strategy, performance optimization
