We are looking for a talented Senior Java Developer who will be ready for complex tasks, have a career plan to grow into a leadership role, or has already similar experience and is motivated to learn new technologies and environments. Our client is a global leader in providing multi-technology solutions and applications.

This is an engineering role, you will most commonly work on enhancing existing applications in the portfolio, extending their functionality, fixing bugs, migrating existing solutions to the up-to-date technology stack, and maintaining a high level of engineering quality. Part of the team is located in the USA.

Your responsibilities will include enhancing the applications to meet the needs of global users, addressing technical issues relating to software implementation, function, and upgrades, being involved in the release process, outage communications, product fixes, triage, and design reviews.

This role offers a hybrid model, with 3 days per week working from the client's office in Krakow, Wroclaw, or Gdansk, Poland.

Responsibilities

• Drive development of new features and software patches
• Write and review code in Java
• Write and review technical documents, including design, development, and revision documents
• Test, debug, maintain and/or update programs
• Analyze, review, and modify programs to increase operating efficiency or meet new requirements
• Resolve customer issue escalations from Tier I/II
• Investigate, document, and resolve technical issues

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Java Developer
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Expertise in Java 8, 11, and REST services
• Experience with SQL databases and Google Cloud Platform
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and principles
• Proficiency in asynchronous programming and multithreading
• Experience with JUnit/Mockito for unit testing
• Experience with client-server architecture, HTTP, and REST
• Familiarity with dependency injection, services, and APIs
• Fluent in English (B2+ or higher) for effective communication within the team and with stakeholders

Nice to have

• Cloud Platform experience (Particularly experience with AppEngine)
• Knowledge of Angular 1.6
• Familiarity with Google-relevant technologies: guice, protobuf, blaze
• Knowledge of JavaScript (at least at level to understand client-side request-response flow and debug in-browser errors)
• Understanding authentication of various types
