Senior DevOps Systems Engineer - Observability Specialist Description
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Systems Engineer - Observability Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will design and implement observability dashboards, collaborate on logging best practices, and enhance service performance. You will leverage tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, AWS Cloudwatch, and git to monitor and analyze system performance, and actively participate in team activities to ensure alignment and progress.The ideal candidate should have a deep technical understanding of the mentioned tools, proficiency in Python, NodeJS, Golang, or similar, and at least 4 years of relevant software development experience with a solid understanding of AWS cloud. Responsibilities
- Design and Implement Observability Dashboards: Your main task will be to develop and maintain observability dashboards for Kodiak. This will ensure that our engineers have a clear understanding of the behavior and performance of services in cloud environments
- Collaborate on Logging Best Practices: You will work closely with our software engineering teams to establish and promote the best practices for collecting and transmitting logs for relevant observability metrics
- Enhance Service Performance: In collaboration with our product engineering teams, you will optimize the performance and observability of our services, ensuring they meet high standards of efficiency and reliability
- Utilize Technical Tools: You will use tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, AWS Cloudwatch, and git to monitor, alert, and analyze system performance
- Engage in Team Activities: You will actively participate in daily standups, ad hoc tech reviews, weekly status meetings, sprint reviews, demos, and retrospectives to ensure alignment and progress within the team
Requirements
- Deep technical understanding of the following tools: Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, AWS Cloudwatch, git
- Proficiency in Python, NodeJS, Golang, or similar
- 4 or more years of relevant software development experience
- Proficiency in AWS cloud
