Lead Kafka Platform Support Specialist Description
We are looking for a Support Specialist to play a key role in building, maintaining and troubleshooting our Kafka Platform. You'll be at the frontline of ensuring optimal performance and security, developing innovative features, automation and integrations, and even supporting PagerDuty and Uptrends SaaS.
This position offers remote setup with the flexibility to work from any location in Georgia, whether it's your home, a well-equipped office in Tbilisi or coworking spaces in Batumi and Kutaisi.

Responsibilities
- Install and optimize new Kafka clusters
- Ensure consistent health and performance of the Kafka platform and data pipelines
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues
- Conduct regular performance tuning of Kafka platform components
- Monitor and optimize the cost and performance efficiency of Kafka clusters
- Upgrade the Kafka platform, involving strategic planning, rigorous testing and streamlined implementation
- Maintain Kafka platform security through persistent monitoring and security audits
- Conduct system backups and disaster recovery procedures
- Manage the Kafka platform's capacity with foresight on future growth and scaling needs
Requirements
- Proven experience in implementing and maintaining Confluent Platform
- Solid knowledge of HELM and Docker
- Familiarity with Terraform
- Proficiency in Cloud services (specifically GCP & AWS) including Compute, Networking, Storage, IAM
- Experience with Jenkins, especially in Pipelines and Groovy
- Strong expertise in Python/Shell scripting and automation
- Deep understanding of Linux administration
Nice to have
- Background with PagerDuty and Uptrends is preferred
- Relevant certifications in Confluent Certified Developer or Administrator for Apache Kafka
