We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our skilled team in managing the intricate migration of a client's on-premises system to AWS.

This is a vital project for the client, and the role presents an excellent opportunity for contributing to critical data migration endeavors within a mature and robust team of EPAM engineers.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end migration processes and assist with the transition to cloud-based systems
• Collaborate with a team of engineers to optimize migration procedures and reduce downtime
• Scale and optimize system architectures to meet evolving project demands
• Develop and maintain workflows to support workload automation
• Troubleshoot and remediate issues during and post-migration
• Implement effective disaster recovery strategies to ensure system resilience and data protection
• Document technical processes, migration steps, and other critical information
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to team skills enhancement
• Evaluate current on-premises systems for migration readiness and compatibility with AWS
• Help design and assess system solutions to support data migration and workload management

Requirements

• Proficiency in AWS platforms and cloud migrations
• Background in databases such as Postgres
• Showcase of disaster recovery planning and executions
• Understanding of DevOps practices and tools
• Skills in architecting and managing migration of mission-critical systems
• Knowledge of system troubleshooting and optimization
• Experience with automation techniques for repeatable processes
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional tech teams
• Strong communication and documentation capabilities
• Flexibility to adapt within fast-paced and evolving project scopes

Nice to have

• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) methods
• Familiarity with additional database technologies
• Certifications in cloud computing, particularly AWS
• Knowledge of additional programming or scripting languages
