Lead Data Quality Engineer Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Data Quality Engineer to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate will drive our data quality initiatives by collaborating with various teams to establish comprehensive testing strategies, set up data quality metrics, and ensure compliance with quality standards across all data products.
This position offers remote setup with the flexibility to work from any location in Georgia, whether it's your home, well-equipped offices in Tbilisi and Batumi or a coworking space in Kutaisi.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer teams to define and implement a comprehensive data quality testing strategy
- Develop and execute a quality verification plan for data products ensuring alignment with business needs
- Set priorities, assess risks, and select appropriate data tools for quality testing
- Manage and optimize data governance processes including preparation, integration, and quality control
- Establish and maintain Data Quality environments in adherence to standards
- Design, monitor, and manage QA reports, KPIs, and quality trends to track performance
- Facilitate efficient task execution by collaborating across teams involved in Data Solution Development
- Enforce and advocate for adherence to established quality standards
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of engineering experience in Data Management, Data Quality, Data Governance, and Data Integration
- In-depth knowledge of data pipelines, Data Lakes, and ETL testing processes
- Understanding of CI/CD principles and data processing best practices
- Strong SQL skills required
- Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages
- Familiarity with major cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience in developing test automation frameworks and maintaining QA environments
- Capability to perform data analysis and validate requirements
- Proven track record in creating Data project Test Strategies, Test Planning, and Test Case design
- Expertise in infrastructure troubleshooting, performance optimization, and bottleneck analysis
- Experienced in team leadership and direct customer interactions
- Analytical problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- English language proficiency
Nice to have
- Knowledge of data processing technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, ElasticSearch, and Python libraries (Pandas/NumPy, etc.)
- Background in various ETL tools including Databricks
- Basic skills in Linux and Bash scripting
