Lead Java Developer Description
We are seeking a Lead Java Developer to join our dynamic team at a highly profitable company.
In this role, the right candidate will lead a team of Java developers, focusing on the development of our core product engine used by commercial valuers and real estate agents. As a well-rounded professional developer fluent in Java and other associated technologies, you'll play a crucial role in building and maintaining products that are essential to our users, without the constraints of large company bureaucracy.

Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Java developers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the development team, ensuring projects are completed on time and meet required quality standards
- Foster a collaborative environment and encourage continuous learning and improvement within the team
- Work closely with project managers, product owners, and other stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
- Create detailed project plans and manage the development lifecycle from conception to deployment
- Ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and company policies during the software development process
- Lead the design and development of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable Java-based applications and services
- Collaborate with architects and other teams to ensure the alignment of technical solutions with business requirements
- Perform code reviews, provide feedback, and ensure that the team follows best practices in software development
- Facilitate effective communication within the development team and with other departments, ensuring alignment on goals and expectations
- Report on project progress, team performance, and potential risks to stakeholders
- Act as the primary point of contact for technical issues and provide guidance in resolving complex problems
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Java development with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles
- 1+ years of experience in a leadership or team lead role managing software development teams
- Proven experience in back-end development
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with Python
- Understanding of database design and SQL, with experience in working with databases like Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL
- Experienced in Google Cloud Platform and containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes
- Competency in using version control systems and implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset focused on delivering high-quality solutions that meet business needs
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and flexibility to use Agile development practices
