Application Support Analyst Description

We are expanding our Global Support team and seeking an Application Support Analyst with expertise in Unix, SQL, and IT service management (ITIL). This role plays a crucial part in maintaining system availability, troubleshooting issues and ensuring adherence to IT governance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure maximum system availability, providing prompt and accurate responses to IT issues and requests
  • Proactively manage and govern Global Research Applications, following IT governance best practices
  • Support integration of new releases, patches and configuration changes into production, including post-release monitoring
  • Lead knowledge sharing, documentation and cross-training to improve team collaboration and efficiency
  • Mentor and support team members, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Act as a liaison between Business, Technology and Functional teams to ensure smooth platform operations
  • Provide incident, problem and release management updates to stakeholders
  • Utilize automation tools to enhance operational efficiency and system stability
  • Implement IT governance and de-risking strategies to maintain a secure IT environment

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Unix, SQL and Linux for IT system management and troubleshooting
  • Strong background in IT service management (ITIL), including incident, change and production management
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams
  • Ability to analyse complex IT issues, troubleshoot and implement solutions efficiently
  • Detail-oriented, proactive and a structured problem-solver with a passion for automation and operational efficiency
  • Flexibility to work across a 24-hour support timeline, including regular onsite coverage
