Senior HPC Software Developer (C/C++) Description

We are looking for a highly qualified Senior Software Engineer with extensive expertise in C/C++ and a background in distributed storage systems to join our Client, a global leader in parallel file systems specializing in distributed storage solutions for the AI and high-performance computing sectors.

This is a fully remote role, providing flexibility to work from anywhere in Poland, whether from your home or one of our state-of-the-art offices located in Gdansk, Katowice, Krakow, Lodz, Warsaw, or Wroclaw.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of features or subsystems within distributed storage systems, contributing to design, development, and optimization
  • Exhibit proficiency in C/C++ programming, delivering efficient, high-quality, and maintainable code
  • Contribute to architectural decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance align with top industry standards
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, and product managers, to align development goals with project objectives
  • Identify code performance bottlenecks and optimize for multi-core and scale-out use cases to improve distributed storage system performance
  • Perform thorough code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and guide junior developers toward continuous improvement
  • Analyze technical challenges, propose innovative solutions, and implement them effectively

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5–8 years of professional experience in software development with a focus on distributed storage systems
  • Expertise in C/C++ programming with an in-depth understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Proven leadership experience managing entire subsystems in large-scale storage development projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude with the capability to troubleshoot and optimize system performance
  • Familiarity with distributed file systems, network protocols, and parallel file systems
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to excel in a team-centric environment
  • Passion and proven ability to learn complex technical topics
  • English language fluency

Nice to have

  • Background in developing Linux kernel-level code
  • Flexibility to use programming languages like Python
