Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to define requirements for data management and archiving
- Evaluate the existing SAP ECC data structure to identify retention policies, data volumes, and archiving needs
- Develop and implement a comprehensive SAP archiving strategy aligned with business and regulatory requirements
- Create and execute archiving solutions for critical modules, including FI, CO, MM, and SD
- Determine and categorize data for retention and archiving, including transactional, master, and log data
- Configure and manage archiving objects in SAP ECC and S/4HANA to ensure effective data lifecycle management
- Leverage SAP ILM functionalities for data retention, destruction, and archiving requests
- Work with technical teams to optimize system performance and manage storage needs
- Perform pilot testing for archiving solutions to assess their impact on data accessibility and system performance
- Validate archived data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and usability
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for archiving processes with business teams
- Document archiving configurations, policies, and practices for future audits and reference
- Prepare compliance reports and maintain a thorough audit trail for archived and retained data
- Develop training materials and documentation to support knowledge sharing and user education
- Establish and enforce data governance policies to ensure compliance with archiving standards
- Train business and technical teams on retrieving archived data and understanding retention policies
- Support organizational change management efforts to implement new archiving practices
- Oversee the seamless archiving of large volumes of legacy data while maintaining system functionality
- Provide recommendations to reduce database size and enhance system performance following migration
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in SAP projects, with a focus on data retention and archiving
- Minimum of 1 year of experience leading and managing development teams
- In-depth knowledge of SAP ECC and S/4HANA data structures, archiving processes, and migration technologies
- Expertise in archiving across key SAP modules, including FI, CO, MM, and SD
- Proven ability to define and implement retention policies, analyze data volumes, and optimize performance
- Strong organizational and documentation capabilities to ensure alignment and compliance across teams
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving project requirements and effectively prioritize tasks
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, at a B2+ level or higher
