Over the last few years, we have put significant effort into our next generation cloud subscription billing platform. This is a core strategic focus, and we continue to actively develop and grow this platform.
The Role
Reporting to the Product Manager you will have a combination of analytical, stakeholder management and strong planning skills. Furthermore, you’ll have expert knowledge in the payments industry.
The Product Owner is responsible for the delivery of the Product roadmap, in line with the company strategy. You prioritise and sequence user stories and defects, facilitate design sessions and work closely with the engineering team to ensure that the right technical solution is delivered.
Main Responsibilities
- You act as a subject matter expert in the payments industry, understanding complex technical requirements as well as necessary regulatory detail with the ability to explain both in plain English.
- You actively educate the internal product development team by facilitating regular sessions.
- You regularly assess, then reject or accept feature ideas from multiple sources and to varying degrees of fidelity to help shape and define the roadmap.
- You qualify feature relevance and quantify business and customer impact to prioritize relative importance. You then own the delivery of the roadmap, prioritising feature delivery against defects and technical debt reduction.
- You facilitate requirements gathering and design sessions and lead the engineering team in agile ceremonies.
- You serve as a customer advocate for the internal product engineering team.
- You act as an escalation point to clarify requirements, elaborate on customer needs, and communicate feature intent.
- You assist with product acceptance testing and provide business context around minimum acceptable quality.
- You ensure implementation stays true to feature intent and identify areas of improvement.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree focused on business, finance, or requisite industry experience
- 3+ years in a product development function as a product owner, business analyst or in a technical capability with good domain-level understanding of payments industry.
- Excellent communication, analytics and conceptual thinking skills
- Experience within the Payments industry
- Experience in Agile development process, framework, and tools.
