This Melbourne-born scale up is booming - especially since their merger with industry giant Rakuten which has over 1.6 billion users worldwide! Fillr clients include some of the biggest players in the online shopping, fintech and BNPL space including Afterpay and Zip and you will play a vital role on their mobile product meeting these clients’ needs.
So what does Fillr do?
Built from the ground-up to solve the issue of converting on mobile, Fillr is an ultra intelligent data exchange platform with a 95% + accuracy that is proven to be more accurate than Google and Apple’s autofill offerings!
Behind their simple façade, forms are deceptively complicated. A jumbled mess of code in a multitude of formats, they are constantly changing and updating. Fillr, already the world’s most accurate autofill, continues to improve through machine learning and internal benchmarking platforms and regression frameworks.
As you can imagine, mobile has become increasingly important. Mobile has increasingly become the first screen for digital commerce with over 40 percent of e-retail traffic now mobile based. However, despite the exponential growth in mobile shopping, conversion rates continue to fall, with seven out of 10 people stopping short of completing their online purchases.
Fillr solves this by tapping into technology innovations to improve customer experience and reduce significant frictions in mobile commerce, such as complicated checkout forms. And this technology needs to work on every app, every browser, every checkout!
What kind of work will I be doing?
You will work on improving and enhancing the existing Fillr android SDK, including decision making on new tech and tools. In the first 6 months, your goal will be to wrap your head around the Fillr android environment, but once you are onboarded onto the fillr environment, you will also get onboarded onto the Rakuten environment and project!
You will work closely with the Accuracy and API teams to ensure Fillr’s android offering is meeting client needs. This includes debugging, performance enhancement, building new features, implementing a tracking & monitoring process, and maintaining existing components.
The current tech is primarily Java based with some Kotlin, but there are plans to change the stack moving forward (potentially with more of a Kotlin focus) and the team is open to your input on what that future will look like. The mobile team is headed up by the Director Engineering (Mobile) who is currently focused on Rakuten android applications, as well as 2 iOS Engineers.
What’s in it for me?
If you’re someone craving a step up and wants to have a clear impact and involvement in decision making then this is the role for you. There is room to grow and a culture that supports continued development.
Being a lean, fast moving team with start-up roots, but now part of a global brand, you’ll also have the best of both worlds. You will be part of a small tight knit team that moves fast and values innovation. Communication is the key to delivering on that and have an open culture of sharing knowledge, ideas and laughs from all parts of the business.
You will also enjoy a wider company culture that supports and looks after its staff including but not limited to financial contributions to private health cover, state-of-the art office spaces and work from home flexibility.
