Division – Innovation & Venturing Business Unit – Firemark Ventures

Position Overview

Perform complex data and commercial research & analysis to inform decisions along the insurance value chain, which will lead to better startup investment decisions. Identify customer segment and market trends & insights, manage market sensitive information, and provide advisory and recommendations to senior management on prospective startup businesses, which in turn will help IAG to deliver world class customer experiences.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Analysis & Research – 35% Undertake complex data and commercial analysis of the market, emerging technology and customer segements, and provide and present timely and accurate insights (qualitative and quantiaitve), that allow informed strategic decisions to be made for potential startup investments that will enhance or disrupt the traditional insurance value chain.

  2. Continuus Customer Experience Improvements – 35% As a specialist project resource, work closely with stakeholders across core areas of the business and the startups IAG Firemark Ventures invests in, to identify continuous improvement opportunities, and design & execute experiments that will enhance the CX for IAG’s target customer segments.

  3. Operational PR & Advocacy Support – 30% Design, implement and manage the Firemark Ventures operational PR & Advocacy support activities, including management of the website, blogs, content, eDMs and event coordination to help the IAG Firemark Ventures team with building our brand and improving deal flow.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 1-3 years or more experience in data analysis (essential)
  • Demonstrated experience in customer & market research (essential)
  • Stakeholder engagement expertise; a proven track record in working closely with customers to understand their business models and processes and illicit requirements in order to deliver the best possible solutions (essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to extract all types of data from a variety of sources and systems, interpret and explain the data, identify anomalies and provide related solutions (essential)
  • Ability to undertake complex business impact assessments and prepare resultant documentation including the preparation of traceable, reusable requirements and lean canvases (preferred)
  • Running and coordinating projects & initiatives (preferred)
  • Prior related experience in financial services/insurance (preferred)
  • Prior related experience in commerce/marketing (preferred)
