Job Overview:

The Head of Credit Corporate is responsible for the performance of the Corporate Credit team and the assessment of high value, complex transactions, as well as the ongoing review and opportunity setting for borrowers as part of our portfolio review process for cash flow and asset finance lending.

This role will have the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, to proactively manage the portfolio and ensure right sizing of available limits to the corporate customer base. The role will proactively work with sales and Relationship functions to identify opportunities which are aligned to Shift’s risk appetite and support the growth of the lending book.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Decision lending opportunities in a holistically which are focused on capital expenditure and working capital funding

  • Structure solutions which are the optimal credit strategy for the borrower and with the appropriate security structure to protect in the event of loss.

  • Ability to incorporate different securities (primary, secondary & tertiary) and understand the impact of their value over time to ensure the right structures are evident.

  • Focused on in life credit management and review of borrowers to ensure right sized opportunities which are consistent with credit appetite.

  • Creating and fostering a high-performance culture for your team though active development and performance management.

  • Provide coaching to direct reports to ensure staff development, performance and growth.

  • Engage with Sales team for escalated loans and ensure outcomes which are aligned to Shift’s appetite are met through structuring or providing insights as to decisions.

  • Regularly engaging and collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to support continuous improvement for the credit function and to solve issues and develop better ways to deliver outcomes.

  • Using data and insights to create genuine customer solution which are within Shift’s risk appetite by actively providing recommendations to support shaping credit guidance to maintain Shift’s risk appetite

  • Collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to support continuous improvement for the credit function and to solve issues and create better ways of working.

Skills & Experience required:

  • A well-rounded experience in corporate lending which is focused on Cap Ex and Working Capital funding.

  • Ability structure lending solutions which are the optimal credit strategy for the borrower and with the appropriate security structure to protect in the event of loss.

  • A mix of traditional asset-based experience with a deep understanding of different asset securities (primary, secondary & tertiary) and their performance over time

  • Ability to manage in life credit management and review of borrowers to ensure right sized opportunities which are consistent with credit appetite.

  • Strong Credit Risk Management Expertise

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications

  • Previously held Credit Delegation

  • Experience leading a team

  • Experience working in a cross functional environment

  • Business Acumen and sound knowledge of business lending market
