About the Role

As a Settlements Officer at Shift, you will play a critical role in ensuring our clients’ business loans are settled accurately, efficiently, and in line with regulatory and internal risk requirements. You will be responsible for coordinating loan disbursements, managing settlement documentation, and working closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver a seamless customer experience.

This role suits someone who is detail‑oriented, operationally strong, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team, contributing directly to customer outcomes and the overall success of Shift’s lending operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the disbursement and collection of loans through the company’s Loan Management System.

  • Review and validate settlement documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Verify customer, facility, and security information in line with company, banking, and credit policy prior to settlement.

  • Liaise directly with clients, brokers, suppliers, vendors, internal teams, and external partners to manage settlement timelines and expectations.

  • Maintain, manage, and update settlement data and records to ensure accurate reporting and audit readiness.

  • Complete reconciliations and post‑settlement checks as required.

  • Ensure adherence to AML, CTF, and internal risk and compliance frameworks.

  • Proactively identify and escalate issues that may impact settlement timelines or customer experience.Managing end‑to‑end settlement processes for asset finance and/or business lending facilities.

  • Monitoring settlement queues and prioritising work to meet service level expectations.

  • Responding to settlement enquiries from internal stakeholders and external partners.

  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process gaps or inefficiencies.

  • Contributing to a strong risk and compliance culture through consistent and accurate execution of settlement controls.

Skills & Experience required:

  • Previous experience in settlements within the asset finance and/or business finance industry is preferred.

  • Experience in fintech, banking, or financial services is highly regarded.

  • Sound understanding of Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) and Counter‑Terrorism Financing (CTF) obligations.

  • Familiarity with loan documentation, settlement workflows, and funding processes.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple settlements concurrently.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging a wide range of stakeholders.

  • A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with a willingness to take ownership and initiative.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred but not required.
