People & Culture Advisor (12-Month Max Term)

Since 2011, this company has redefined the future of retail in Australia and New Zealand. As the #1 fashion e-commerce destination in the region, our platforms (Retail, Marketplace and Services) provide an inspiring and seamless end-to-end customer experience. We DREAM BIG through collaboration and innovation, and are supported to bring incredible ideas to life. We believe in making a positive difference by shaping the future of shopping across fashion, sports, home and beauty.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced People & Culture Advisor to partner with operational leaders and deliver practical, timely people solutions that help the business scale. You’ll be the go-to adviser for operational people matters, case management and cyclical P&C programs — using strong stakeholder relationships and people data to drive fair outcomes and better decisions.

What’s Involved

  • Stakeholder partnership: Build trusted relationships with your client group to advise on operational people matters and deliver cyclical P&C initiatives.
  • Case management: Manage minor to moderate people cases (performance management, investigations, employee relations) in a timely, consistent and risk-aware way.
  • Insights & escalation: Identify capability gaps and people trends, propose practical solutions and escalate where required.
  • Operational guidance: Provide coaching and counsel on talent management, employee relations, performance, development and organisational change.
  • Project support: Support the P&C Manager to design and implement initiatives focused on scaling for growth, culture, recognition and retention.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work with P&C Centres of Excellence to deliver commercially viable, policy-aligned people solutions.
  • Learning & development: Help build a culture of learning with clear pathways for career progression.
  • Data-driven decisions: Use people data to inform recommendations and proactive interventions.
  • Recruitment support: Advise on recruitment processes, success profiles, benchmarking, and remuneration reviews.
  • HR systems accuracy: Maintain accurate Workday records including people moves, title changes and leave entries.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Experience: 2+ years as an HR/P&C generalist or advisor, ideally in operations or warehousing environments.
  • Relationship building: Ability to build solid working relationships within the P&C team and your client group, becoming a trusted advisor.
  • Employee relations: Proven experience managing performance processes, investigations and disciplinary matters.
  • Passion for Operations & ER/IR.
  • Systems & data: Proficient with Workday (or similar HRIS) and confident using data to influence decisions.
  • Stakeholder management: Strong partnering skills with the ability to influence at all levels, including SLT.
  • Practical & commercial mindset: Able to balance policy, people and commercial priorities to deliver pragmatic solutions.
  • Communication: Clear, diplomatic and concise written and verbal communication; capable of managing difficult conversations with empathy and facilitating discussions and workshops.
  • Qualifications (desirable): Degree in HR or related field, or HR certification (e.g., CIPD/ACCP).
  • This role is based primarily at the Fulfilment Centre in Yennora, Western Sydney, and is office-based four days per week to best support the client group.
  • What You’ll Love About the Role
  • Impactful work: Directly influence people strategy and operational performance.
  • Collaborative culture: Work alongside a supportive P&C team and dynamic stakeholders.
  • Development focus: Contribute to projects and grow your HR capabilities.

Life With Us

  • Flexible working: Hybrid and flexible options so you can work in a way that suits you.
  • Learning collective: Learning days & hackathons.
  • Parental benefits: Paid parental leave and an extra day off for your child’s first day of school.
  • Birthday leave: A paid day off and a voucher to treat yourself.
  • Staff discount: Amazing employee discounts and famous sample sales.
  • Wellbeing programs: Discounted gym memberships and wellbeing resources.
  • People first: Access to our Employee Assistance Program for you and your family.
  • Volunteer days: Paid volunteer opportunities through our charity partner, Thread Together.
  • Refer a friend: Enjoy rewards for successful referrals.
