About Us
The ASE Group is Australia's community-led social enterprise helping everyday Aussies start businesses and change their lives. We deliver the Self-Employment Assistance program, supporting Participants to launch their own businesses through coaching, mentoring and a genuinely inspiring community. We're small, growing fast and we need someone who brings the WOW factor every single day. Learn more: ase.edu.au
Our Values As a Team Include
This isn't your typical Community Engagement Officer role where you're just sending emails and ticking boxes. You're the heartbeat of our Self-Employment Assistance program, the person who makes participants feel like rockstars from day one and keeps that energy going throughout their entire journey.
One minute you're welcoming a nervous new participant and making them feel instantly at home, the next you're coordinating a networking event for 50 people. It's fast-paced, it's varied and honestly? It's incredibly rewarding.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
There will be days when you're coordinating a workshop for 20 people, processing five new EOIs and welcoming three new participants, all before lunch.
If that sounds overwhelming, this isn't for you. But if you get a genuine buzz from creating amazing experiences for people and building a thriving community? You'll absolutely love it here.
What Makes This Different: You're helping people transition into business ownership. You'll watch someone go from "I have an idea" to launching an actual viable business and you played a part in making them feel supported and excited throughout that journey.
Every single day is different: admin, event coordination, relationship building, problem-solving and community engagement. No monotonous desk work here.
What We Offer
Write us a cover letter (YOU, not ChatGPT - we can spot AI a mile away). Tell us:
CRITICAL: No personalised cover letter = we probably won't review your application.

What You'll Actually Be Doing
- Processing EOIs and turning interested people into enrolled, excited participants
- Coordinating workshops, masterclasses and networking events: promoting them, filling the rooms, setting everything up, making sure they run smoothly and exceed expectations every single time. We run lots of events throughout the year designed to upskill this community (but we make sure there's plenty of fun thrown in too, like our End of Financial Year Boat Party!)
- Being the first face people see when they walk into our Launchpads: greeting everyone with genuine warmth and making incredible first impressions.
- Calling every new participant on their start day to welcome them and make them feel supported.
- Keeping coach calendars fully booked by filling gaps with business plans, health checks and overdue mentoring sessions.
- Managing our online community of small business owners: posting engaging content at least twice a week, responding to every post within 24 hours, making people feel connected even when they're not physically with us.
- Gathering success stories and sharing wins: taking photos at events, writing case studies, celebrating achievements publicly and making people feel proud of what they're accomplishing.
- Monitoring the inbox and handling calls, voicemails, leads and general enquiries.
- Sending monthly motivation emails to all active participants with event invitations and booking reminders.
- Bring genuine positive energy, not in a fake, corporate way, but because you actually get excited about helping people chase their business dreams. People feel your enthusiasm the moment you walk in a room.
- Love building relationships: you're the person who remembers names, asks follow-up questions and makes everyone feel like they matter. Building rapport with almost anyone comes naturally to you both over the phone and in-person.
- Can juggle multiple things: Event planning, inbox management, EOI calls, welcoming new participants. It's a lot happening at once and you thrive on that kind of variety.
- Take initiative and make things happen: you don't wait around to be told what to do. You see what needs doing and you just do it. Event numbers looking low? You're already on the phone drumming up attendance.
- Are naturally organised: you keep track of everything, complete your daily checklist letting nothing slip through the cracks.
- Communicate really well: whether it's a phone call with a nervous first-timer or a post in our online community. You know how to adapt your style to different people and situations
- Love being part of a team: we're small but mighty and we like it that way! You're a genuine team player - you love the chat and banter, but when it's time to get stuff done, you roll your sleeves up and get stuck in with everyone else
- Experience coordinating events or community programs
- Background in customer service or hospitality where you made people feel special
- Understanding of small business or entrepreneurship
- Experience with CRM systems, project management tools or online communities
