The Commercial team is highly data, product and trend orientated. It is customer-obsessed and focused on delivering the future of fashion by curating a customer-centric platform of choice. The Category Buying team works closely with the Planning team to drive sales, maximise profit, manage intake and ensure that forward-thinking and on-trend ranges engage customers.

As the Category Buyer, you will report to the Senior Category Buyer. You will support the department’s strategy, vision and budget planning, and assist in the purchasing and procurement of goods required by the business. You will also support the team in achieving sales growth within your category in alignment with the company’s commercial strategy.

The company is looking for an experienced and passionate Established Category Buyer – Women’s to join its dynamic commercial team on a 12 Month Max Term Contract.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping the women’s accessories category, curating a selection that reflects the latest trends and meets the evolving needs of customers. If you’re driven by data, thrive on creativity and have a flair for negotiation, this is an opportunity to make an impact in a fast-moving e-commerce environment.

About The Role

  • Understand and help drive company-wide strategies and OKRs
  • Conduct market research to stay up to date with trends and products in the e-commerce industry and make recommendations on product and brand selection
  • Monitor inventory levels to maintain adequate stock availability
  • Evaluate vendor performance and assist in vendor selection, deactivation and exit processes
  • Negotiate favourable contract terms and conditions for both commission-based (platform) and OTB-based (wholesale) vendors while delivering strong customer-facing assortments
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and industry regulations
  • Maintain accurate vendor records including brand plans, SKU lists, department brand profiles and tiering matrices
  • Identify opportunities to improve the onsite customer experience
  • Analyse data, interpret trends and make informed recommendations
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose effective procurement and platform strategies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to support long-term partnerships
  • Liaise with internal teams to support vendor onboarding and ongoing collaboration
  • Work closely with key brands to develop strong assortments
  • Manage inefficient or underperforming brands and propose strategic improvements
  • Review and manage detailed contract terms and ensure obligations are met
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to identify go-to-market and promotional opportunities for your category
  • Develop strategic category roadmaps aligned with commercial strategy and customer segments
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders including Marketing, Vendor Management, Operations and Finance
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
  • Adapt to evolving market conditions and continuously learn new skills and approaches
  • Support other duties as required by management

About You

  • Previous experience as a Buyer within a high-volume business
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • A collaborative team player
  • A passion for women’s fashion and accessories
