The company is seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven eCommerce Analyst to join its Commercial team. In this role, you will be responsible for analysing eCommerce data, generating insights, and making data-driven recommendations to maximise online commercial performance.
The ideal candidate brings a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in the Google Analytics suite, and a solid understanding of digital marketing and online consumer behaviour. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Head of eCommerce Trade.
What’s involved
- Understand the commercial strategy, trading levers, and operational context (e.g. campaigns, assortment changes, pricing, onsite changes)
- Connect commercial activity to onsite/app performance and customer outcomes
- Sanity-check data using business understanding (identify anomalies, flag issues, validate sources)
- Identify trends, patterns, and optimisation opportunities across the full customer journey (merchandising, pricing, acquisition)
- Translate data into insights by articulating the “why” (drivers and root causes), the “so what” (implications), and the “what next” (recommended actions)
- Own GA4 event management in partnership with Data/Engineering (requirements, governance, improvements)
- Define and maintain event naming conventions and behavioural metrics
- Validate tracking after releases and proactively monitor for issues
- Extract and transform raw data into stakeholder-friendly outputs
- Maintain BAU reporting and dashboards
- Prepare insights for weekly trade reporting and monthly business reviews
- Conduct deep dives for strategic and cross-functional initiatives
- Proactively surface insights to improve customer experience and commercial outcomes
- Drive understanding across the business of how onsite/app behaviour impacts performance
- Partner with Product and Trade teams to execute and measure A/B testing
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across reporting processes
- Explore and pilot AI use cases to improve analytics productivity
- Train teams on practical AI usage (insight generation, summarisation, QA, automation)
- Identify workflow improvements where AI can uncover patterns at scale
About You
- Proven experience as an eCommerce Analyst, Digital Marketing Analyst, or similar role
- Strong analytical capability with solid SQL skills (comfortable working with large datasets independently)
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, ideally GA4
- Understanding of digital marketing, SEO, and online advertising
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Detail-oriented with strong organisation and time management
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong Excel skills (INDEX/MATCH, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, conditional formatting, charting)
- Analytical mindset with a focus on understanding “why”
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to connect metrics to business outcomes
