The Marketing Director will own the brand and entire marketing funnel, driving employer acquisition and candidate sign ups with a variety of B2B and B2C marketing tactics.
What you'll own
- Brand: Own the Hatch brand across all touchpoints. Sharpen the positioning, ensure consistency, and make sure every piece of communication reflects our unique voice.
- Program launches: Own the go-to-market for the most significant product launch in Hatch's history. Build and execute the employer acquisition marketing motion that fills our founding employer cohort. Drive awareness of the program among employers, students and universities through PR, content, events and partnerships.
- B2B demand gen: Build the inbound and outbound engine that puts Hatch in front of HR leaders, CPOs and CEOs at Australia's top companies. Create the content, campaigns and sales enablement assets that support a top-down enterprise sales motion and a marketing-led mid-market acquisition funnel.
- Candidate growth Drive candidate sign-ups and engagement on the platform. Build Hatch into the go-to destination for Australian university students who want to build their careers while they study.
- Team building: As the program and platform scale, you'll hire and lead a marketing team underneath you.
Experience
- 6–10 years in marketing, with at least 2–3 years in a marketing leadership role
- Has owned a major product or program launch end-to-end.
- Has built and run B2B demand generation (content, email, events, LinkedIn) and can point to results
- Fluency in strong brand building. Track record in creating or growing a strong brand
- Bonus: Has worked on a two-sided marketplace, platform or community product.
- Strong bonus: Has been an early marketing hire at a Series A or B company and scaled up a function.
- Strong writer: you can craft positioning, copy and content personally, not just brief it out.
- Commercially minded: you understand pipeline, conversion and revenue, not just reach and impressions.
- Equally comfortable in a brand conversation and a campaign performance review
- Can build and execute without a big team or budget behind you
- Moves fast, decides with imperfect information, iterates in public
- Treats brand and growth as complementary, not competing
- Wants to build something that matters: this program is genuinely changing the way young Australians start their careers
