We are seeking PhD-level experts with experience applying design, optimization, prediction, and scientific reasoning to biological or chemical systems. Ideal candidates have worked across experimental and/or computational settings, and can interpret complex data to guide research and development decisions.
Consultants will support work spanning multi-omics analysis, experimental design, and hypothesis-driven investigation, contributing to both discovery and translational efforts.
Key Areas of Expertise
Analysis
- Experience working with large-scale biological datasets (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, epigenetics)
- Ability to extract insights from noisy, high-dimensional data
- Strong causal and mechanistic reasoning skills
- Ability to generate testable hypotheses and evaluate competing explanations
- Experience synthesizing evidence across experiments or datasets
- Experience in biological or molecular design (protein, DNA/RNA, or small molecules)
- PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, systems biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biostatistics, chemistry or related field
- 3–8+ years of relevant research or industry experience
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Comfortable working across data analysis, modeling, and scientific reasoning
- Able to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely
Contract and Payment Terms
- You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
- This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
- Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
- Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
- Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
