About The Job

We’re looking for a Marketing & Growth Lead to own the marketing function at Splice Internet, the retail arm of Rural Fibre Co. This is a full-time, permanent role based hybrid/WFH 3-4 Days a week from Melbourne, reporting to the General Manager, Retail.

Two things are happening at once. We’re continuing to grow our fibre network across regional Gippsland, taking new towns to market as we build. And we’re expanding onto a wholesale broadband network, competing in a much bigger market for the first time. You’ll be across both building a function designed to scale.

Why work for Splice?

Splice Internet started because rural communities deserved fast, reliable internet and someone needed to actually go and build it. We sell connectivity across Rural Fibre Co’s own fibre network and a growing wholesale network. We’re a small team that builds our own software and runs our own brand, using automation and specialisation to move faster and unlock opportunities others can’t.

Our Values

  • Dare to be Different
  • Play Together Win Together
  • No Bullshit
  • Get Shit Done
  • Everybody Goes Home

We're here to give people a shot. We're a young team filled with people who've got the passion and drive to make awesome things happen.

The good stuff

  • $90,000–$110,000 + super (depending on experience)
  • Equity options in Rural Fibre Co as we grow
  • 5 weeks’ annual leave
  • 3 days’ community service leave
  • Real ownership of the marketing function, strategy through to execution
  • Direct impact on rural communities that have been underserved for years
  • A small, fast-moving team where your work shows up in the numbers quickly

Let’s Talk About You

  • Marketing and visual communications experience, with exposure to digital, email, automation, and brand management
  • Strong writing skills across different tones and formats
  • CRM and marketing automation experience (Brevo, HubSpot, Mailchimp, or similar), including workflows and automated sequences. No specific system required, just experience in using platforms.
  • Track record running multi-channel campaigns with clear tracking and budget discipline
  • Performance marketing knowledge (Google Ads, Meta Ads) and comfort with web analytics
  • Direct mail coordination experience: data, design, print production, distribution
  • Familiarity with telco advertising regulations, or the ability to learn them fast (TCP Code, ACL, ACMA, ACCC guidance)
  • Interest in AI and automation tools, with a willingness to put them to practical use
  • Work independently and take action without waiting for perfect conditions
  • Bonus: experience with regional or rural brands, telecommunications, or startups

How will you support our “Why?”

Strategy and growth

  • Own the marketing strategy across both networks, from acquisition through to retention and advocacy
  • Plan and run go-to-market for the wholesale network launch: positioning, channel mix, campaign timing, budget
  • Evolve and localise the fibre rollout marketing as we expand into new areas
  • Track conversion data, analyse what’s working, and make recommendations to the GM on spend allocation
  • Manage campaign budgets and track customer acquisition cost by channel, working with the GM to set and hold a target CAC

Content and brand

  • Own copy across both brands, working with our external comms consultant on social content, landing pages, website, and internal comms
  • Write time-sensitive materials: direct mail, email campaigns, customer updates
  • Manage two distinct brand voices and keep them clearly separated across every channel
  • Work with the comms consultant on founder-led messaging and community storytelling

Systems and automation

  • Run the marketing automation platform: segmentation, automated email sequences, campaign tracking
  • Build and maintain automated funnels for both networks: lead capture, nurture, conversion, onboarding, retention

Campaigns and channels

  • Plan and run campaigns across digital ads (Google, Meta), direct mail, email, organic social, referral programs, and community events
  • Handle direct mail end to end: data, copy, design coordination, print, distribution
  • Lead the website rebuild alongside the Product Lead, bringing both product lines into one clear signup experience
  • Work with the General Manager on designing price/value promotions, including costings and audiences

Compliance

  • Review all customer-facing materials against Australian telco regulations (TCP Code, ACL, ACMA, ACCC guidance) before release
  • Keep both brands consistent and properly separated as required commercially and by regulation

Experimentation

  • Test new tools, tactics, and campaigns to improve reach and results
  • Use AI and automation to solve problems that would otherwise need a much bigger team
