As a Software Engineer Intern at Wisr, you'll be supported by our Software Engineering team with the opportunity to work on a range of systems consisting of both internal and external facing applications such as our Broker portal platform, our internal loan management system (custom built by us!) and financial wellness tools. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of novel and diverse problems across the business, backed by an experienced team.

Our Engineers and Product teams work closely together to solve problems with creative solutions. You will collaborate with teams both within the Product & Innovation business unit as well as the wider business and internal customers.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal and external-facing applications, including the Broker portal, loan management system, and financial wellness tools

• Write clean, maintainable code across backend and/or frontend systems in line with engineering standards and best practices
• Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, from requirements through to testing and deployment
• Write and maintain automated tests (unit and integration) to support code quality and reliability
• Collaborate with Software Engineers and Product teams within the Product & Innovation business unit to deliver creative solutions to business problems
• Work alongside internal customers and wider business stakeholders to understand requirements and contribute to outcomes
• Support and learn from an experienced engineering team in an enterprise environment

About You

With some initial working with backend and/or frontend coding frameworks on a project, you are familiar with all phases of the software development life cycle and have a passion for writing clean and maintainable code. You understand the value that automated testing brings to a code base and are comfortable working in an enterprise environment.

You also need to be able to work with a team and understand that having a diverse set of opinions is vital to success. You love to solve problems first and write interesting code second.

You Have Some Initial Experience Working With

• Object oriented programming
• SQL databases
• Integration and unit testing

Bonus points if you have had some familiarity with CI/CD practices or how code is deployed in enterprise environments.
