“Do I need experience to work in tech sales?”

No.People join tech sales from lots of different backgrounds, like retail, hospitality, teaching, sport, healthcare, and customer service. What matters most is being curious, good with people, willing to learn and put in the work.

“Do I need to be extroverted?”

Definitely not. Some of the best salespeople are thoughtful listeners, problem-solvers, and relationship builders. Great sales is about understanding people and creating trust - not being the loudest person in the room.

“Is sales just cold calling?”

Not at all. Modern sales is highly collaborative and strategic. Depending on the role, you might spend time running discovery conversations, helping customers solve problems, building relationships, presenting ideas, or working closely with marketing, support, and customer success teams.
