Hatch is looking for renewable energy and environmental markets professionals to support an AI research project with one of our partners through flexible, hourly contract work.

This is not a traditional job. You’ll draw on your hands-on experience in ESG reporting, carbon accounting, and/or environmental compliance to evaluate AI-generated content and provide feedback that helps AI better understand renewable energy workflows and environmental markets practices.

Note: This role is not with Hatch. It is with a partner AI lab.

• Start: Immediate
• Pay: $65 AUD per hour
• Duration: 3-week project, with the possibility of extension
• Hours: Up to 40 hours per week; no minimum hours
• Location: Fully remote, asynchronous schedule

This is a project-based opportunity that can be done alongside research, consulting, teaching, or industry employment.

You will be asked to complete real work tasks in a structured format, independently producing expert-level analytical work using the tools and workflows from your professional practice. This could include renewable generation forecasting and performance reporting, renewable Generation Forecast Production, renewable Energy Certificate (REC) Verification and Retirement, or other similar tasks.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of professional experience in renewable energy generation, forecasting, or environmental markets, in roles such as:
• Renewable Generation Performance Analyst
• Renewable Asset Forecasting Analyst
• REC / Environmental Markets Analyst
• Or equivalent roles in the energy industry
• Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously with AI research teams

Hands-on experience with one or more of the following tools:

• WREGIS
• AVEVA PI
