Senior Business Analyst

The opportunity

We have an opportunity for a QA Manager to join us on a permanent based at our Sydney CBD office.

This role will be responsible for

  • Responsible for overseeing and managing the quality assurance processes and activities within an organization.
  • Play a critical role in ensuring that products, services, and processes meet the established quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Responsible for leading a team of QA professionals and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.

Areas of Responsibility:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to the QA team.
  • Set goals and objectives for the team and monitor progress.
  • Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the QA team.

Quality Assurance Processes:

  • Develop and implement quality assurance strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Define and document quality standards, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Establish and maintain quality control processes for all stages of product development or service delivery.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to identify areas of improvement and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Testing and Test Automation:

  • Define and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Coordinate and manage testing activities across different projects and product releases.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate testing tools and technologies.
  • Implement test automation frameworks and strategies to improve efficiency and accuracy of testing.
  • Monitor and analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.

​​​​​​​Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Identify and assess quality risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that impact quality assurance practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve quality-related issues and address customer complaints.

​​​​​​​Continuous Improvement:

  • Monitor and analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Initiate and lead quality improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Implement effective root cause analysis techniques to identify and address underlying issues.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by promoting quality awareness and fostering a proactive approach to quality management.
  • The employee accepts responsibility to follow all procedures and policies of the Quality Management System applicable to their position, the task at hand and as directed by the company.

To be successful in this role you will require:

  • At least 10 years testing experience with at least 3 years extensive EFTPOS and payment applications testing
  • Experience with general EMV (smartcards banking applications) and scheme (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Eftpos) testing
  • Defect management experience using Quality Centre and JIRA
  • Proven experience in quality assurance or quality management roles, preferably in a technology-driven environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality products or services.
