Job Overview

As a Staff Software Engineer on the Intuit for Education team, we are the stewards of Intuit’s impact on future generations by better preparing students for jobs through our development of personal and entrepreneurial finance skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of professional software development experience, with 3+ years focusing on mobile development (iOS and Android).
Solid understanding of front end development in ReactJS and Typescript.
Solid understanding of backend development in NodeJS and Java, along with practical experience in GraphQL APIs
Experience in data management with Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB on AWS.
Understanding of data encryption, both at rest and in transit
Capable of working effectively in a small, fast-paced agile team
Demonstrated experience working with external teams and managing stakeholder expectations

Preferred

Proficiency in React Native with hands-on experience using Expo and Expo Router.
Experience with React Query
Knowledge of Intuit infrastructure and tooling would be a strong plus
Familiarity with progressive enhancement and performance optimization in mobile applications
Prior experience in educational technology or personal finance applications
Contributions to open-source projects in related tech stacks

The expected base pay range for this position is PEI $160.00 - 217.00 , BC $160.00 - 217.00 , Nova Scotia $160.00 - 217.00 This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). The Intuit for Education team, part of Corporate Responsibility, is focused on helping future generations be better prepared for jobs and life through the development of personal and entrepreneurial finance skills. You will play a critical role in the continued development of our education platform and will be specifically focused on liaising with the team building our hybrid personal finance app that will combine Education and FinTech. The ideal candidate will have full stack experience including React, Typescript and Java. Any mobile experience with React Native would be a strong plus. As a member of the Intuit for Education Development Team, you will work alongside an agile, fast paced team of product management, design, curriculum, and various cross-functional teams in support of collectively achieving our goals and mission.

Play an important role in the Architecture and on-going development of the Intuit for Education Platform.
Work with the Development manager and team to guide and liaise with the partner who is building our mobile app.
Work with the Product Management team to create JIRA tasks and lead small teams of contingent workers to produce new features and enhancements to the I4E platform.
Build server side code to enhance the I4E GraphQL implementation.
Contribute to the development of backend services utilizing NodeJS or Java, with GraphQL API support
Contribute to the on-going development of the front end web application utilizing Typescript and ReactJS
Employ AWS tools such as CDK for infrastructure, ensuring scalability
Manage data storage solutions such as Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB, ensuring encryption at rest
Implement logging and monitoring of system performance by leveraging Intuit tooling
Collaborate closely with external teams and stakeholders, maintaining clear communication and alignment
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of team processes
