Job Overview
We are seeking a Staff Operational Excellence Manager to come join our Third Party Strategy and Transformation team. In this role you will be an integral part of the Global Business Services (GBS) Team that tackles Third Party (3P) strategic sourcing and business operations. The Intuit GBS team manages a multi-billion expense portfolio across our 3P suppliers ecosystem spanning Technology, Marketing, Services, Supply Chain, and Other accelerating functions.
Your primary responsibilities include optimizing category strategy, partner performance transformation, value chain strategy and analytics, project management, and driving total cost of ownership programs. This role will serve as a strategic leader and thought partner that will report into Group Manager of Third Party Strategy and Transformation Group. The role will be responsible for identifying and working on key projects that address strategy, roadmaps, optimization opportunities. The role is also responsible for building and managing relationships with key suppliers and internal Intuit business owners. Responsibilities include identifying and developing operational excellence strategies, driving total cost of ownership programs, total partner value, data and analytics, and financial and program effectiveness.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments with multiple priorities and stakeholders. This role will be tasked with performing data analysis, insights gathering, and presenting insights to leadership on key strategic growth and optimization opportunities. The role is expected to lead with data and perform data analysis that lead to actionable insights and long term strategic plans.
Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing
- Support end-end strategic sourcing initiatives including but not limited to S2R processes, negotiations, category and supplier strategy
- Support and drive strategic sourcing opportunities in support of our Technology, Finance, Custom Success, and other Business Units
- Be comfortable with Sourcing levers, and use advanced negotiation and analysis skills to deliver optimal outcomes
- Understand BU/FG strategy and lead discussions regarding strategy and resulting priorities. Develops category sourcing strategy, with increased global complexity.
- Lead cross functional project teams
- Proactively works directly with business partners with little or no oversight from the manager. Effectively prioritize own work
Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
- Identify improvement opportunities with key vendors and focus areas that drive continuous improvement across KPIs and pushes innovation
- Drive key TCO Center of excellence initiatives. Develop project plans, align stakeholder expectations, update leadership on progress and escalate key roadblocks and risks
- Maximize realized value from vendor partnerships by driving third parties to innovate and automate solutions
- Proactively influences thinking of BU/FG leaders in the development of BU/FG priorities and the associated sourcing strategy. Leads & influences beyond own organization, and is known for having a high impact on the organization
- Effective framing and presentation skills on highly complex and ambiguous business problems
Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement
- Drive operational excellence initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Partner with cross functional stakeholders from Technology, Finance, Custom Success, and other Business Units to drive project success and solve complex problems.
- Optimize business processes, including end-end sourcing, partner performance, and supplier forecasting
- Manage the implementation of business solutions to streamline processes, continuously refining methodologies and leveraging cross-functional best practices.
- Execute multiple business plans and projects by identifying stakeholder needs, developing priorities, measuring progress, and adjusting performance as needed.
- Proactively identify levers, opportunities for optimization and develop and drive roadmaps and implementation plans
3P Supplier Forecasting and Segmentation
- Implement and refine Intuit’s 3P (Third Party) Forecasting framework to develop long term forecasts on Supplier trends, spend, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Develop strong 3P forecasts by supplier, category and create long term roadmaps (1 & 3 year plans) to optimize supplier performance
- Implement Intuit’s 3P Segmentation Framework to identify and drive key optimization projects including Supplier health checks, total partner value initiatives, and continuous improvement
- Manages supplier performance monitoring and measurement and work with vendor owners on key escalations or remediations
Program Management
- Develop and communicate business strategies, progress, and action plans to stakeholders, driving execution across teams.
- Proactively build relationships with and influences internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrate and practice a high degree of professional integrity and ethical responsibility in all business activities
- Drive project activity across large cross-functional teams involving multiple stakeholders
- Be comfortable dealing with Director and C-level executives
- Manage issues & risks and communicate to management. Consult with senior management and project management experts as needed. Facilitate communication between project team and stakeholders
- Knowledge and experience with Coupa, Oracle or other Sourcing/Procurement tools a plus
Qualifications
- Relevant industry experiences including past work experience in Sourcing, Lean Six Sigma, Process Improvement work
- Relevant experience working on data analysis, business intelligence, optimization initiatives
- Comfortable working on complex, large data sets, spend cubes, workflow process cycle times and identifying bottlenecks
- 5-10 years of strategic sourcing or consulting experience (e.g., developing category strategies, running RFI/RFQ/RFP, reverse auctions, continuous improvements, supplier performance)
- Experience with ERP and Source-to-Pay tools
- Experience in team environments and driving large projects with internal, and external stakeholders
- Experience developing and/or presenting business cases, category strategy
- Comfort with creating and presenting content for executives
- Bachelor’s degree in business or other quantitative discipline or equivalent work experience. MBA degree is a plus.
- Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in managing transformational projects that require high-level of change management, stakeholder engagement
- Solid financial and/or quantitative modeling
- Attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data
Desired skills:
- A proven track record of cost reduction and productivity improvements; ability to influence and drive change while building solid relationships with your internal clients and external vendors
- Strong analytical skills; MS Excel/Sheets proficient; financial modeling preferred
- Strong content development skills including PowerPoint, Google Slides proficiency
- Strong written and communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as lead and participate in cross functional teams
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment
- Awareness of best practices in vendor management (e.g., strategic alliances, supplier certification, etc.)
- Excellent documentation and requirements analysis
Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is Bay Area California $149,000 - 201,500, Southern California $137,5000 - 186,000. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits).
