Job Overview
Come join the Virtual Experts Platform (VEP) as the Director of Engineering, VEP Customer Experiences. VEP powers AI-driven digital expertise and AI-assisted human expertise for all Intuit customers to ensure customers who enter the Intuit ecosystem never experience a ‘dead-end’ and always have a trusted expert by their side to help them along the way. VEP is core to Intuit’s Big Bet 2 and serves every single customer that touches all the products across the tech ecosystem including expertise-led offerings such as TurboTax Live, TurboTax FullService, QuickBooks Live.
We are looking for a seasoned technology leader with experience building customer-facing experiences and capabilities at scale powered by AI. In this role, you will lead the technology teams that drive Intuit wide outcomes focused on leveraging AI (including GenAI) to transform how we deliver expertise across our product and service experiences. You will partner closely with Business Units, Customer Success, and external partners, to lead the strategy for accelerating outcomes by leveraging existing external and internal capabilities and developing our portfolio of digital expertise capabilities. The ideal candidate’s experience encompasses strong technical architecture and/or software development, building at scale PaaS and SaaS solutions, business acumen and expertise in developing product strategy, and outstanding organizational leadership in building high performing teams. This leader will have an ability to leverage prior success building and rearchitecting products and platforms that run at scale.
Responsibilities
- Will lead the technical strategy and drive teams in delivering and growing successful AI powered solutions and services
- Ability to be scrappy, experiment and learn while driving target state technical architecture for durable platform capabilities to serve millions of customers
- The role requires influencing teams across Intuit to transform our product and service experiences through the platform and ecosystem transformation
- Partner closely with multi-disciplinary teams across Customer Success, Product Management, Design, Partnerships to deliver customer outcomes
- Contribute to company wide initiatives on the engineering and talent development
- Actively raise the operational excellence standards of the services and products to be secure, available, scalable, resilient, and performant. Inspire team innovation and deliver quality at speed across product offerings and platform services
- Successfully deliver results through diligent planning, attention to detail, effective delegation, efficient decision making, and individual/team accountability
- Hire top talent, and actively counsel and coach the team and build a high performance organization. Actively engage in Intuit wide talent development
- Actively engage in external developer and partner communities, tech communities on cutting edge technology innovation to accelerate Sales outcomes and lead the teams at Intuit to accelerate innovation and customer outcomes.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in the software industry building highly scalable and performant technology solutions
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality SaaS and PaaS products/platforms that serve millions of customers
- Attracts, develops & retains top talent
- Track record of leveraging AI to innovate and transform product experiences and capabilities
- Outstanding business outcomes with effective and fast decision making that takes into account the interests of all four key stakeholders – employees, customers, shareholders, and partners
- Experience in making successful trade-offs that balance the short and long term product goals
- Experience driving engineering design using Agile process to drive innovation, accelerate decisions and outcomes while minimizing risk
- Proven ability to lead and influence large distributed product development efforts
- Partner with senior engineering leaders and business leaders to influence organizational decisions and in building strong engineering teams
- Proficiency in one or more key technologies including React, Java, Javascript, NoSQL· Proficient in front-end and back-end architecture & design
- Understanding of industry-leading technology/solutions in APIs, SDKs, SaaS best practices, and developer platforms and tools. In-depth knowledge of industry best practices, technologies, architectures and emerging technologies
- Experience using data insights for product refinement
- Experience transitioning a monolith to a Cloud-based, service-oriented architecture
- Ability to work well through ambiguity, confidence in making tough calls and leading through adversity with a sharp focus on the eventual right outcomes
- Computer Science or related bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is Southern California $253,500 - 342,500. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
