Job Overview
Intuit Mailchimp is seeking an experienced data science and analytics leader to lead & scale our marketing and partnerships science team. This exciting opportunity will span across Paid Media, Web, Lifecycle Marketing, and Partnerships. This role will drive critical cross-functional strategies and will partner closely with marketing, partnerships, product management, data engineering and other cross functional partners. This hybrid role will focus on measurement across several customer acquisition pathways: Marketing, Service Partnerships (marketing agencies who use Mailchimp with their customers), and Tech Partnerships (companies Mailchimp partners with like Shopify, Squarespace, Canva and their integrations). We’re looking for someone who has a high bar for quality, intends to do the right thing and is driven by achieving and driving business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Drive strategic thinking to optimize Marketing Team efforts (inclusive of experimentation), including leading measurement programs using Media Mix Modeling, geotesting, universal control group / holdout methodologies.
- Represents data science and analytics function on cross-functional leadership team and provides/inspires data-driven change around end-to-end customer experiences to improve acquisition, retention, and reduce churn.
- Creates and executes on a data science charter for the team including best in class MMMs, Next best action modeling etc. Dive deep into our Service Partner program data to find the best opportunities for partner acquisition and prioritization.
- Build deep knowledge of Tech Partner integrations to identify product experience opportunities, acquisition strategies, and customer segmentation based on this data.
- Develops and grows an exceptional team of data scientists, data analysts and partners effectively with data engineers and applied scientists; prioritizes the team’s work to maximize effectiveness and impact both at the individual and team level.
- Partners with cross-functional stakeholders to better understand our users and create a single, accurate view of a customer across businesses to make decisions about how best to acquire/retain them, segment, identify high potential value, and proactively interact with them.
- Leads the full cycle of iterative big data exploration, including hypothesis formulation, algorithm development, data cleansing, testing, insight generation/visualization, and action planning.
- Collects, analyzes, and models available data to advance the marketing and partnerships analytics space and build a broad understanding of the Mailchimp customers and relevant customer segments.
- Pursues data quality, troubleshoots data validation, and sees issues to resolution.
- Provides guidance and support to business leaders and stakeholders on how best to harness available data in support of critical business needs and goals.
- Establish best practices including quality assurance, automation, code reviews, quality checks, and data alarms. Roll up sleeves when needed to write or review code, or create data visualizations for our stakeholders.
- Foster an environment for continued team exploration and learning
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience working in marketing analytics, product analytics, data science or other related analytics fields. Ability to tell stories with data, educate effectively, and instill confidence, motivating stakeholders to act on recommendations.
- 5+ years working with customer data in paid media analytics and science (Media Mix Modeling, geo testing), web analytics, lifecycle marketing or related field/function. Demonstrated ability to deeply analyze customer data to inform marketing and partnership decisions.
- 3-5 years' experience managing data analysts, business intelligence engineers, data scientists or data engineers with a proven track record of building high-performing analytics and data science teams and developing successful analysts/data scientists.
- Deep understanding of media and web analytics platforms (eg Google Campaign Manager, Google Analytics), data privacy, and product analytics (behavioral data) is a plus.
