As a Principal, Strategy and Business Operations (S&BO), you will oversee the strategy and execution within QuickBooks’ connected ecosystem of small business and mid-market offerings that include QuickBooks Payroll (Workforce Solutions) and QuickBooks Desktop. We are actively seeking a leader with both a strong strategic mind and incredible operational rigor, someone who is able to inuence and navigate highly matrixed and cross-functional organizations. You love combining strategy with execution, and enjoy rolling up your sleeves to bring plans to life.
As a Principal, Strategy and Business Operations, you will work alongside senior leaders, S&BO partners and cross-functional teams, to ensure successful execution of our segment’s strategy and in-year operational plans. This position requires strong strategic problem solving, analytical and communication skills, and the ability to inuence and develop productive partnerships at all levels of the organization. This role is an individual contributor reporting to the Director, Strategy & Business Operations with an opportunity to develop and move into a people manager position in the future.
Responsibilities
- Strategy: Develop and implement a long-term strategy for our QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Payroll (Human Capital Management) segments with a particular focus on our mid-market customer audience
- Operational Rigor: Monitor and improve key performance metrics for the business, and uncover opportunities to accelerate growth by leveraging data, analytics and external insights
- Ownership Mindset: Ownership mindset with an ability to convert strategic plans into actions, drive projects to completion, and sweat the details to deliver outcomes for the business
- Cross-functional leadership: Partner with cross-functional teams and leaders to evaluate and enhance our offerings, focusing on customer experience, innovation and operational efciency
- Project leadership: Spearhead 1-2 strategic projects (product/market expansion, strategic partnerships or acquisitions, AI innovations or expert services) to change the trajectory of business growth
- Change Management: Ensure alignment on priorities and processes among teams during our annual planning cycle, but stay nimble to facilitate tough trade-off decisions and re-prioritization of key cross functional work tracks during the scal year

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is Bay Area California $191000-258000. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. To drive ongoing pay equity for employees, Intuit conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender.
Qualifications
- 7-10+ years of relevant experience including roles in business operations, management consulting, or strategy in large, matrixed environments. B2B, SaaS and experience in Human Capital Management (HCM) is a plus, but not required
- Experienced operational leader who is able to inuence and build trust across a highly cross-functional organization (peers, executives and working teams) to run complex programs and accelerate outcomes
- Excellent communicator with strong presentation skills and storytelling abilities; feel very comfortable leading and facilitating workshops and monthly/quarterly business reviews with executives and teams
- Delivered tangible business results (top-line, revenue/customer growth) by building compelling business cases that have leveraged leveraging customer-backed insights and an hypothesis-driven approach to experimentation and learning
- ‘Held the pen’’ in developing business and/or corporate strategies and connecting those to clear implementation plans
- Proven track record in developing critical processes or standard operating mechanisms that facilitate the growth of the business
- Broad exposure to senior and executive leaders with strong executive presence
- Highly self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity and able to manage multiple projects with little day to day direction
