Intuit’s mission is to lead the industry in solving the most painful financial problems small business owners and consumers face to help them prosper. Our Futures team incubates emerging technologies, user experiences, capabilities, and products that have the potential to be transformative to Intuit’s small businesses and customers.
We’re currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our “intrapreneurial” team. In this role, you will have end to end responsibilities from spearheading to launching the next generation of customer experiences for Intuit’s flagship products through cutting edge technologies such as Generative AI and Natural Language Understanding technologies. It’s a unique opportunity to be part of a multi-disciplined team of designers, engineers, data scientists, researchers and analysts incubating new trajectory changing experiences for Intuit.
Responsibilities
In your role, you’ll help build the technologies that will transform how our customers interact with our products and services. The ideal candidate will be a flexible, creative engineer who can build across front-end and back-end domains to enable our teams to move fast and understand what is possible with new technologies.
- Stay up-to-date with and share the latest developments in specific technology areas, developing a point of view on the business implications and opportunities for Intuit and our customers.
- Build prototypes and customer-facing experiences that show how Intuit can incorporate new technologies to benefit our customers at scale. This typically involves collaborating actively with product, architecture, and design leaders across Intuit.
- Implement key aspects of product experiences based on new technologies (e.g. Generative AI and Applied AI/ML applications)
Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is New York $161,500.00 - 219,000, Bay Area California $161,500.00 - 219,000, Southern California $149,500.00 - 202,000. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. To drive ongoing pay equity for employees, Intuit conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender.
Qualifications
- Strong educational background with BS / MS in Computer Science or a related area
- 5+ years of experience in hands-on full-stack software development positions across a variety of technology areas including (but not limited to) front-end and back-end development
- Knowledge or experience with AI and GenAI technologies such as LLM's, RAG, a plus.
- Knowledge or experience working with AI voice and/or real-time avatar technologies is a plus.
- Experience with React, JavaScript, typescript and/or web frameworks
- Experience with Python programming is a highly desired
- Experience developing customer-facing applications in a fast-moving technical environment
- Experience building web services (with Java, typescript or javascript) and database (including SQL and NoSQL) is highly desired
- Excited about technology-driven innovation and the business transformation that can be enabled
- Able to contribute across high level technical design and detailed implementation in partnership with product leaders, designers, and other engineers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate new ideas to a general audience
- Proven track record of innovating and influencing to provide novel and effective solutions to difficult software engineering problems
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial perspective in ideation and implementation
- Prior experience with NLP/NLU technology is highly desired
