We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.

Job Overview

Intuit is seeking a highly accomplished and visionary Director to lead the Platform Capabilities within the Virtual Expert Platform (VEP) organization at our India Development Center (IDC). This critical leadership role will be instrumental in shaping the technical strategy and driving the evolution of our core VEP platform, with a strong emphasis on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the application of exceptional platform development practices. You will lead and empower multiple engineering teams in IDC to build and enhance robust, scalable platform capabilities that enable Intuit to connect customers to expertise effectively and efficiently. This role demands a strong technical leader with a deep understanding of platform architectures, a proven track record in delivering AI/ML-powered solutions, exceptional technical craft, and the ability to effectively manage stakeholders and drive influence across a global organization.

Responsibilities

  • Technology Strategy & Innovation: Define and drive the technical strategy for the VEP platform capabilities, with a significant focus on leveraging AI and Machine Learning (ML) to enhance platform functionality, drive automation, and create intelligent user experiences. Champion a mindset of continuous experimentation and learning to ensure the platform remains at the forefront of technological advancements. Lead the exploration and adoption of emerging technologies, including Generative AI (GenAI), to accelerate platform development and improve efficiency.
  • Platform Development & Architecture: Lead the development and delivery of scalable, high-performing, and resilient platform services and capabilities that underpin Intuit’s diverse product offerings and assisted services. Drive the target-state technical architecture for durable platform capabilities, ensuring they can serve millions of customers with high availability and performance. Champion a platform mindset by fostering collaboration and contribution across different teams and potentially external partners. Drive company-wide initiatives related to platform and data architecture and process improvements.
  • AI/ML Integration & Application: Spearhead the integration of AI/ML models across the VEP platform to address key business challenges and opportunities, such as proactive customer support, personalized experiences, intelligent expert matching and routing, and operational excellence. Lead the development of AI-powered observability and incident recovery solutions to ensure the platform's health and reliability.
  • Technical Craft & Operational Excellence: Uphold high standards of technical craft within the engineering teams, promoting best practices in software development, testing, and deployment. Drive operational excellence by ensuring platform services and products are highly secure, available, scalable, resilient, and performant. Inspire innovation within the teams to continuously improve the quality and speed of delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management & Influence: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Design, Technical Program Management, and other engineering organizations, to ensure alignment on platform strategy and the delivery of impactful customer outcomes. Partner with senior engineering and business leaders to influence organizational and strategic decisions related to the VEP platform. Engage with external developer, partner, and tech communities to stay abreast of industry trends and foster innovation.
  • Organizational Leadership & Talent Development: Lead and manage multiple engineering teams within IDC, fostering a data-driven culture and promoting operational excellence. Recruit, mentor, and develop top engineering talent, building high-performing and engaged teams. Actively participate in Intuit’s talent development initiatives, executing successful strategies for talent acquisition, retention, and growth.
  • Speed & Agility: Operate with a sense of urgency in a high-velocity environment, making quick and informed decisions to deliver quality outcomes rapidly. Promote and implement Agile development methodologies to drive faster innovation and valuable outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in the software industry, including building scalable and high-performing technology solutions.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an executive leadership role, managing and leading multiple engineering teams.
  • Deep expertise in platform development and architecture, with a proven track record of building and delivering high-quality SaaS and PaaS products or platforms serving millions of customers.
  • Significant experience in leveraging AI/ML models and techniques for practical applications in areas such as observability, automation, personalization, or operational efficiency. Familiarity with Generative AI (GenAI) concepts and applications is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of observability frameworks and practices, including distributed tracing, logging, and monitoring, and experience with relevant tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish technology sourcing directions and provide context for related decisions.
  • Extensive experience in driving operational excellence and implementing large-scale process improvements.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with senior engineering and business leaders to influence organizational decisions and build strong engineering teams across geographies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence strategic decisions and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in one or more key technologies such as Java, JavaScript, React, and NoSQL databases, with a strong understanding of front-end and back-end architecture and design principles.
  • Experience building and deploying applications on public cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud.
  • A strong understanding of Intuit’s mission of ‘Powering Prosperity Around the World’ and a commitment to its values.
