Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Software Development Manager to lead our talented Email Editing and Templates engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding the team in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality, scalable, and innovative solutions for our email creation experience. You will foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, working closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to bring our product vision to life.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Mentor: Manage, coach, and develop a team of software engineers, fostering their growth and ensuring high performance. Conduct regular one-on-ones, provide constructive feedback, and support career development.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and direction to the team on architecture, design, and implementation of complex features. Ensure the team adheres to best practices in software development, including code quality, testing, and CI/CD.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from planning and design through to deployment and maintenance. Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with product management, design, and other engineering leaders to define product strategy, roadmap, and requirements for the email editing and template experience.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive operational excellence within the team, focusing on system reliability, performance, scalability, and security.
  • Innovation: Encourage and foster a culture of innovation, exploring new technologies and approaches to enhance our product and engineering practices.
  • Hiring & Team Building: Actively participate in recruiting and hiring top engineering talent to build a diverse and high-performing team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong understanding of modern web technologies (e.g., JavaScript, React, Node.js, HTML, CSS).
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership or management role, directly managing software engineers.
  • Proven experience in leading teams to deliver complex software projects in an Agile environment.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Experience with building and maintaining user-facing applications, ideally with a focus on content creation or editing tools.
