Job Overview

Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. As the Director of TurboTax Core Experience, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, driving the evolution of North America’s leading tax preparation solution. This is a unique opportunity to impact millions of customers while tackling some of the most complex challenges in fintech.

Responsibilities

This critical leadership role will be instrumental in shaping the technical strategy and driving the evolution of our core TurboTax offering, with a strong emphasis on the integration of Artificial Intelligence and the application of exceptional platform development practices. This role demands a strong technical leader with a deep understanding of platform architecture, a proven track record in delivering scaled consumer offerings, exceptional technical craft, and the ability to effectively manage stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Technology Strategy and Innovation: Define and drive the technical strategy for the TurboTax application, with a significant focus on leveraging AI and Machine Learning to enhance platform functionality, drive automation, and create intelligent user experiences. Champion a mindset of continuous experimentation and learning to ensure the platform remains at the forefront of technological advancements. Lead the exploration and adoption of emerging technologies, including Generative AI, to accelerate platform development and improve efficiency.
  • Technical Craft and Operational Excellence: Uphold high standards of technical craft within the engineering teams, promoting best practices in software development, testing, and deployment. Drive operational excellence by ensuring platform services and products are highly secure, available, scalable, resilient, and performant. Inspire innovation within the teams to continuously improve the quality and speed of delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management and Influence: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Design, Technical Program Management, and other engineering organizations, to ensure alignment on platform strategy and the delivery of impactful customer outcomes.
  • Organizational Leadership and Talent Development: Lead and manage multiple engineering teams within the US and Canada, fostering a data-driven culture and promoting operational excellence. Recruit, mentor, and develop top engineering talent, building high-performing and engaged teams.
  • Speed and Agility: Operate with a sense of urgency in a high-velocity environment, making quick and informed decisions to deliver quality outcomes rapidly. Promote and implement Agile development methodologies to drive faster innovation and valuable outcomes.
  • BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience. Significant design/architecture experience.
  • 10+ years’ experience leading software development teams

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position in San Diego Area California $278,500 - $377,000. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
