Job Overview

Mailchimp is the world’s largest marketing automation platform. More than 16 million people and businesses use Mailchimp to design and send 1 billion emails a day. We empower small businesses with a suite of powerful and easy-to-use email, marketing automation, and analytics tools that integrate with hundreds of popular applications and services.

The Design team is made up of multi-disciplined designers, thinkers, explorers and tinkerers dedicated to solving problems for our customers. Our full-stack designers sit at the intersection of design, product management, and engineering working closely with product owners, engineering team leads, research, data science, marketing and editorial to arrive at elegant solutions for our users.

We are seeking an experienced full-stack Designer who is enthusiastic about creating elegant first time user experiences. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the full product design process, from user research and problem definition to interaction design, visual design, and content design. This person will be responsible for leading the design of new products and features, from ideation to implementation.

The expected base pay range for this position is:New York: $175,500 - $237,500

Responsibilities

  • Drives and delivers design strategies, frameworks, principles, and designs on a broad range of projects to accelerate large initiatives and align stakeholders across different teams and business units
  • Work closely with engineers and product managers to ensure that designs are feasible and meet customers needs
  • Leads delivery of high-level frameworks for understanding the problem space, detailed design specs for E2E initiatives, and ideal state prototypes
  • Bring a bold vision and design strategy to life across multiple areas in the ecosystem.
  • Connect the dots across multiple strategies and initiatives to make the largest impact
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest design trends and technologies specifically with regard to AI
  • Masterful storyteller, able to influence a broad audience by visualizing ideas and concepts for internal leaders, partners and customers
  • Use facilitative leadership skills to drive to the best outcome for stakeholders, resulting in others learning from you, and inspiring others to want to work with you
  • Maintain, guide, and push the boundaries of design systems and patterns

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of product design experience with strong visual and interaction skills
  • Expert knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with customers, along with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and user research. Seasoned in Agile development processes
  • Experience running research independently and translating insights into design solutions for consumer and/or commercial web & mobile application interfaces
  • Comfortable taking a first pass at writing copy with the support of Gen AI tools
  • Experience building interface prototypes and a portfolio of examples
  • Ability to rapidly build and iterate on low and high-fidelity prototypes that conveys the design concept using the best and most appropriate tools and techniques, like Figma
  • Strong communication (written, verbal, and visual), influence, and persuasion skills
  • Ability to balance of customer, business, and shareholders needs and cross-functional partnership, collaboration, and decision making
  • Willingness to dig-in and understand the data and to leverage creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Big plus: Product Marketing design experience for acquisition
