Job Overview

Come join the Tax Strategy and Compliance team as a Senior Tax Analyst. This role requires a unique blend of tax expertise, technical proficiency, and an innovative mindset to drive compliance within our AI-driven tax platforms. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced analytical skills and modern technical tools to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our tax products and services.


Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and resolve compliance issues by analyzing current and proposed product and service offerings, with a focus on potential impacts within AI-driven tax experiences.

  • Conduct research and analysis to summarize tax issues, regulatory issues, and relevant legislation related to individual and business income taxation. Synthesize findings and translate complex compliance mandates from statutes, regulations, rulings, and case law to formulate clear requirements and data-driven recommendations.

  • Utilize AI-powered coding assistants such as Cursor to problem solve tax and product rules and features, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

  • Apply machine learning principles and data modeling to analyze quality trends and provide deeper tax insights. Develop and test hypotheses to recommend improvements for product, processes, and services.

  • Capable of overseeing AI projects, establishing governance frameworks, and designing workflows that combine AI efficiency with human oversight.

  • Lead the development of innovative, automated solutions to accelerate tax experiences and incorporate compliance best practices, providing definitive recommendations on complex issues such as AI model governance.

  • Represent the Tax Strategy and Compliance team on compliance issues at cross-functional and inter-disciplinary meetings and reviews.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on U.S. tax preparation experience for individuals and/or businesses. CPA, EA, JD, or equivalent professional credential (preferred but not required)

  • Proficiency in technical tools and experience with AI-powered coding assistants.

  • Strong AI and data literacy skills, prompt engineering and workflow automation skills.

  • An understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD) and software best practices within the Software Development Lifecycle.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to concisely document complex research and findings.

  • Proactive communicator and collaborator who can work with diverse technical and non-technical partners in small and large group settings.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a strong team, prioritizing work to deliver the highest customer value

  • Commitment to continuous learning of new technologies and tools; desire to drive process and tool improvements for customers and experts.
