Job Overview
You will be part of a team working on cutting edge technologies like Service Mesh.
We are looking for a Sr. Staff engineer who, when presented with a problem statement, comes up with possible solutions and their trade offs, with minimal support. You are also responsible to drive the solution end to end, till it gets deployed to production.
Responsibilities
- Develop Service Mesh functionalities
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Leading the gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning
- Presenting the designs along with trade offs to the technical forum
- Come up with a set of both positive and negative cases to test the solution
- Demonstrate high operational excellence mindset.
- Code Review (usually GO & C++, rarely Python & Java) and provide with effective comments
- Debugging issues when a transaction hops multiple kubernetes clusters before reaching the server
- Hands on coding
- Work towards constantly improving the solutions
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience developing/designing cloud,web, backend software or k8s applications.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes, including basic concepts like control plane, clustering, Deployments, Statefulsets, Daemon sets
- Good understanding of how kubernetes controllers work
- Good understanding of networking concepts, including protocols like TCP, TLS, HTTP1.1, HTTP1.2, GRPC
- Good knowledge on how istio works, how to configure it, its features, and how to write envoy filters
- Good understanding of how envoy works
- Hands on using AWS concepts like Route53, IAM, TGW, NatGateway, Databases like Elasticache, DyanamoDB
- Programming experience: C++, GO
