Responsibilities

About the Role

We’re seeking a Distinguished Engineer (IC Engineering Director) to define and drive the enterprise architecture and technology strategy for Intuit’s Workforce Technology ecosystem. Reporting to the VP of Workforce Technology, this highly influential role will shape how our corporate platforms (HR, Places, Workforce Care, Critical Infrastructure and related functions) scale through modern engineering, AI, and automation.

You will partner closely with t4i Product Management, Engineering, Segment Business Units, and Corporate Functions to translate business needs into a cohesive technical vision, architecture, and roadmap that accelerates Intuit’s growth. This is a hands-on, enterprise-level technical leadership role that combines deep systems expertise, architectural vision, and the ability to drive large-scale transformation across complex ecosystems.

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science (or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years in software product development, with 5+ years in enterprise or solutions architecture.
  • Deep understanding of corporate systems (HR, Finance, Workplace, Critical Infrastructure or similar) and their integration patterns.
  • Proven thought leadership across interdependent engineering teams and cross-functional domains.
  • Exceptional influencing skills, with the ability to drive consensus across business and technical stakeholders.
  • Expertise in modern architecture stacks — APIs, microservices, public cloud, and developer frameworks.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to executives and engineers alike.
  • Demonstrated success in build vs. buy strategy, system consolidation, and scalable integration patterns.
  • Skilled in agile methodologies, iterative development, and rapid experimentation.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong business acumen, bridging technology and business priorities to drive measurable outcomes.
  • Balance a strong bias for action — moving quickly to deliver outcomes that create immediate impact — with the ability to think strategically and architect for scale, ensuring today’s solutions pave the way for tomorrow’s growth.
